Has anyone else had any routine bloodwork performed since their vaccine/booster? Before I go any further, just note that I am completely pro-vax and will get any vaccine the medical community recommends.

I had a routine physical last week and all of my labs came back fine, except my sed rate was elevated (I don't remember the exact number, but it was well below the range that indicated possible cancer). This set off alarm bells with my doctor, because that indicates inflammation, infection, or even some types of cancer. So, we basically tested for everything: rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune diseases, lungs, heart, etc. Everything came back fine.

It should be noted that I feel great. I continue to exercise (and am in fact having well above average workouts), have no weakness or fatigue (or, really, any symptoms of any of the issues they've checked on). I have no joint pain or any chronic pain whatsoever. The only ever-so-slight issue is some lower back discomfort, due to poor posture both when at the office and when on the exercise bike.

So, yeah, this makes me wonder about the following scenarios which could have yielded this atypical test result:

1.) My immune system is still reeling from the vaccine (booster was in early November), and I've read it can take weeks to months for a sed rate to return to normal.
2.) I unknowingly had asymptomatic covid, which triggered an immune response.
3.) I unknowingly had covid (about a month ago) that presented with completely atypical symptoms --- i.e., just like my seasonal allergies - mild wet cough, congestion and sinus cavity pain, but no sore throat, no fever, no loss of appetite, no nausea, no fatigue.
4.) I have bouts of pretty intense, generalized anxiety. I've been super stressed and anxious for over a month leading up to my physical. Perhaps that screwed with the results.

I’ve had blood work done two times since getting vaccinated but it was always at a rehab so they were mostly just looking at liver/heart/kidneys and for stuff like hep c and HIV. Never heard anything either time so I’m assuming whatever exactly they looked at or were looking for was completely normal (which, considering my history, is always a shock to me since I should really be dead by all counts but I’ll take it)

Going to Five Guys for two people is like $10 more expensive than McDonalds. I think that's worth it tbh.

Also, we've talked about their regular fries, but nobody mentioned how delicious their Cajun fries are

I eat mashed potatoes with butter/sour cream at least twice a week when I make salmon. Love mashed potatoes and gravy as well. I like homefries and/or hasbrowns as well with eggs. Cheesy potatoes are great too.

I don't dislike fries, but I don't ever crave them either. I find them kind of boring to be honest. If I'm at a restaurant and fries are the side, I will almost always choose a salad or soup instead. If I ever do settle for fries, I need something more interesting than ketchup as a dip - like a southwestern ranch, or ranch/hot sauce mix or cheese sauce or BBQ.

I never eat fast food anymore, so I can't even compare or contrast, but I do remember in college liking Rally's fries (super seasoned), Steak N Shake fries (super skinny mixed with cheese) and there are a few local restaurants where I do enjoy the fries because they are super crispy/baked/crunchy. I hate super soft and potatoey fries (carnival fries...YUCK).

EDIT TO ADD: Tater Tots are KING

Also, I've gotten blood labs done for a physical exam since getting vaccinated and all of my results came back normal. Better than usual actually because I started taking supplements at my doctor's recommendation (vitamin D3, omega 3 oil gels, magnesium, DHEA)

I'm not sure what SED rate is, but I had bloodwork done back in......June 2021? I think?....which was roughly 3 months after my 2nd dose of Moderna and everything was normal on it. I do believe I was previously infected in January 2020 before everything took off, but no proof or blood work from that time to gauge effects.

I've had a Five Guys gift card in my wallet for 5+ years that I'm not sure I'll ever use.

Sorry to hear this. Sounds stressful and scary.

I had COVID in February of 2021 and both doses of the vaccine in March/April of 2021. I had routine blood work done at my annual physical in September. Nothing seemed skewed or out of the ordinary.

Hope you get to the bottom of this.

Yeah, I'm not even sure why my doctor checked it. From what I understand, it's not even part of the standard labs typically performed for a physical. I'm guessing it's because I described the way I feel when I have anxiety attacks, which is the classic rubber legs feeling, tingling, shaking, etc.

Either way, I'm getting it retested in a week. I'm guessing the fact that I was having an ungodly amount of anxiety as they were drawing the blood wasn't entirely helpful for what I understand is a sensitive test.
