To be fair saying a movie will be my favorite based on the return of nostalgia characters/actors isn’t the same as expecting a movie will also be amazing. I still went into no way home with mild expectations other than knowing it will be a nostalgia trip.

If only the live action Spideys could get an actual filmmaker to give their take on the character again similar to Batman

(I'm still not convinced Jon Watts is a real person)

Just found out that here in Taiwan this film is titled “The New Batman” lmao so on the nose

Does anyone here remember going to see The Dark Knight opening day/midnight? It’s the only time I’ve seen so much hype…until this film, so I’m hoping I see some bat costumes at the cinema. I didn’t see any bat costumes for TDKR or BVS.

I played the whole The Dark Knight ARG thing, so my friends and I drove up to West Nyack, NY for a 2-day (maybe 3) early screening of TDK in proper, fuck-off, huge IMAX. It was amazing.

And then we went to the midnight show 2 days later.

I remember there being more hype at the midnight showing for TDKR than TDK. I saw TDK 6 times in theaters, though. I only saw TDKR twice.

TDK was the first comic book film I was hyped about. From May - June 2008 I was constantly looking up news and TV spots for it.

I went to the midnight premiere a few days after Warped so I was still a little tired but I still vividly remember how stoked everyone was. It made up my summer of 08 because I watched it 6 or 7 times.

How early was that back then? 10 am?

I was abroad during the release of TDK so I actually saw it as soon as I got home 2 weeks after release - truly felt like I returned to a changed world. Of course I remedied that by seeing it three times that week.

I binge watched Begins and TDK the day of TDKR's midnight release and I remember having to get there at least 90 minutes before the showtime in order to snag good seats. Rises may have been the last big release I went to at my local theater before they converted it to reserved seating

Also, TDKR was the last big Midnight movie (for obvious reasons), and now we have the far more convenient / less exciting 7pm screenings on Thursdays. (And for some movies, earlier than that -- I think my local AMC did a No Way Home showing at like, 4pm Thursday?)

Saw TDK at midnight first night and someone had a seizure during the club scene and they had to stop the movie for about 30 minutes. Pretty wild.

Nothing is more exciting than being able to see a new movie as soon as possible and being able to go to sleep at a decent hour.

Yup reserved seating and earlier screenings are a change I'm happy with.

I don't have nostalgia for shitty seats that you had to fight for and getting home at 3am on a school/work night

TDKR is the only Nolan film I saw in theaters, and I was very bored by it. Wish I got to see TDK on the big screen

Haha me too. Went to the midnight and was back for 945 am baby.

I also worked at an IMAX cinema where it was only one screen (it was in a furniture store lol) and we were packed for MONTHS with this film. I always made sure I was an usher in the theater when working, which meant we stay in the theater for the first few minutes to make sure people are settled okay. I was able to lock in the window pane that gets shot out from the building immediately when the film started from seeing it so much.

I remember being pretty obsessed with the entire lead-up to both TDK and TDKR, starting as early as the first official photo of Ledger as Joker in May '07 and the viral marketing campaign/teaser release at Comic Con 2007.

I’ll never forget seeing the Dark Knight in theaters because I came home to a busted open apartment door after it had been broken into

  23. I remember getting tickets to a press screening after doing all the viral games for TDK and losing my mind and talking about it in the forums all night and the next day, and then going again to the midnight showing for opening night. I think I saw that movie 8 times in theaters.

Fun times. Back when I liked theaters, heh.
