so this band haven't done nearly as much for me since Masterpiece as they have for basically everyone itt outside of a few songs

but sweet Jesus this album is something else

I truly don’t care about the score. They could give a zero point zero, pretty positive it’s going to be the album of the year. As said above, they deserve all the praise.

 

Them giving infinite granite a 6.5 was the final nail in the coffin for me ever again caring about their scores

 

Pitchfork scores are dumb we've been over this. But they still employ some great writers, case in point here:

Great write-up but the lack of a BNT tag hurts some of yalls predictions. (not making a prediction; I've quoted my own post enough times in here to make it clear what MY feelings on this record will probably be and the 'fork cant change that)

 

have only listened to "little things" but am immensely excited for this record based on past pedigree and that song

finally pre-ordered the CD today let's goooooo

 

I've kept up with all the releases but I think I'm gonna give myself two listen-throughs of all the tracks we have from this today and then cut myself off until I have the full record

 

aw man we really didn't need like eight singles off this, I actually didn't realise they'd released quite so many

probably getting another before the album's out, just not necessary. I mean they're all fucking great songs but that borders on half the record lmao

 

While we’re all counting the days, getting in a(nother?) plug for Rare Feeling by Twain, who recorded on this. One of the best albums of the last 5 years:

 

I’ll take 11/12 new songs on release day and a slow drip of 8/9 excellent singles over 7 months every time if a band is capable of it.

 

If there's enough to go around, sure, but I'd only heard like three songs before I got sent the album during the week and I think I like it better that way.

 

I'm fine with how the rollout happened but that's partially because if you're a diehard (guilty) you'd already heard live versions of about 2/3 of the record between their sets and Adrianne's. So it's cool hearing the studio versions of all these songs that they've been workshopping for awhile, and I don't feel like it's ruined the surprise or whatever because a) the album is huge; b) I'd already heard versions of the songs anyway and c) I don't get tired of their music regardless. My $0.02

 

If they truly have another 10-20 songs in the tank for later in the year I’ll die.

 

There will be a new song by the group ginla out this week which features Adrianne. ginla is Jon Nellen and Joe Manzoli who played drums and guitar respectively in Adrianne's Berklee-era band. Here's their bandcamp and a recent single for reference
