I’m sure we all had a bad feeling about this a month or two ago, but I definitely didn’t expect anything to play out quite this messy

Agreed.... i was listening to FPU and reading lyrics along with it. Anyone who has listened to this band for a while should not be completely surprised here. I really hope he can find a good place and mend these relationships as well.

it’s super weird how people are like “he used the words my truth so clearly he’s in need of a psych ward and he’s going crazy” but rock on

if people are gonna discount Keith for saying “my truth” I’m gonna discount Steve because he can’t use twitter. same level of discourse to me tbh so that’s the way it goes

you’re not crazy, you’re just playing armchair psychiatrist from behind a computer screen and it’s creepy as fuck, but not crazy not at all

After reading Steve's tweets along with Goose's girlfriend's info, imo it's more believable to me *personally* that Keith was the one who caused this. If he really is having ongoing mental health issues I hope he gets the help he needs. I'm not judging anyone who disagrees, this whole situation is so sad and it's unfortunate it's come to who seems more believable based off of limited information... but Steve especially seems convincing to me and lines up more with what has happened publicly in my personal opinion.

I’d say reality is somewhere in the middle to be perfectly honest. I would believe a lot of stuff Steve said, esp about their manager, but it rarely ever falls in line back and white like that.

why are people even splitting this down the line and choosing sides. there’s three perspectives on the situation, what Keith thinks happened, what the band thinks happened, and what actually happened, and the truth is no parties involved and certainly none of us will ever know what actually happened because it’s pretty clear the chain of events that happened were triggered by the different perspectives of the band and Keith. so it’s weird to me to say, well the bands more convincing, well Keith is more convincing, etc. because of fucking course they’re going to try to convince you if what they think is right and IT BRINGS US NO CLOSER TO WHAT IS ACTUALLY RIGHT. you all see that right? there are no neutral parties here. gooses gf is not neutral. keith is not neutral. Steve is not neutral. so it’s literally pointless to align with anyone.

that being said I can’t help but keep in mind what Keith has been through and the work he’s done to maintain his sobriety, and being someone in addiction recovery myself, it’s hard to to sympathize with him and feel fucking weird when people attack him for something as simple as using the phrase “my truth.” that shits weird and whether you intend it or not has an impact on people like me reading your weird, speculative posts about him that have been through similar situations and hardships that he has. would love to know what words people would call me if they knew my strife and struggle in sobriety and things I’ve had to go through, makes me think based on how y’all view Keith it would be less than forgiving. call me out of line or over sensitive to it or whatever but that’s MY truth.

Yeah, I mean anyone close to the band knows that Jordan and Keith have had problems for a while. The bomb of pandemic + sobriety/life changes + personal discord army, etc. all just seemed to culminate in a storm of events that pushed it all too far over the edge. Between Steve, Jordan, Goose's GF and Andy's GF, everything lines up. Even a comment by the manager that quit (after biggie) seem to all line up and they share the timeline and details, whereas a lot of Keith's is shrouded in vagueness and hyperbole. I won't comment on his mental state, but as a sober person I will say that he definitely suffered a lot of trauma and unfortunately threw a lot of life changes into his immediate sobriety which may not help things. I just want everyone to be happy, find peace and move on whether they're in a band together or not

It really just seems like they shouldn't have started any tour/shows at all because they weren't ready and Keith personally wasn't ready, which is 100% fine. The album rollout could have been delayed again, but this was their income at the end of the day. I think there was pressure to push through it and it just didn't work out

There's no neutral parties, sure... but once someone goes public with a narrative, I don't blame other band members for putting their side of the story out there. It's all messy and sad.

That's fair, I wasn't trying to frame it as "choosing sides" but I definitely understand that perspective on it as well. I do agree that we're probably never going to know the full story, as I said in my previous post it's sad that it's even come to this with it all playing out publicly. Of course no one involved in the band is neutral, as @stars143 mentioned though ultimately when someone comes out publicly with their version of events, it's understandable that if other people involved view what happened differently they're gonna put out their side of the story too.

The whole thing is just really sad and I hope everyone involved in the band can heal from what's happening right now. I certainly don't want to belittle anyone's struggles with addiction and trauma, and if my post came off that way I apologize. This whole situation is just making me sad again so I'll just refrain from commenting on it further, you're probably right that it's not helping anything to speculate more.

  22. I don't know why/how you expect people not to develop their own perspective on a very public disagreement with 2 very public sides. It's not your place to virtue signal the rest of the thread for trying to make sense of the facts they've been given about a very unfortunate situation. I'm sorry about your struggles and I'm genuinely hopeful that you find continued luck and success in your sobriety journeys but it's super weird of you to make broad assumptions about how a group of strangers on the internet would respond to your very personal and nuanced situation.

I don't think he's trying to "virtue signal" anything... he's just sharing his perspective and experiences. I'm glad sophos34 is contributing to the thread.

Maybe it’s just not that hard for me to not speculate on things I know that I don’t have the full story on and never will. Sorry for those that can’t do that I guess. Won’t touch the rest of your post with a ten foot pole but I’ll be sure to stop “virtue signaling” because I called out shit in the thread that made me uncomfortable. my bad won’t happen again.

  25. Begging everyone to please, please, please be kind to each other here. I am barely checking this thread (it hurts and I have a lot of work to do today), so please, please be kind. This band meant a lot to so many of us and watching this play out online is painful and brings up many hurtful memories and feelings, so the very least we can do is not turn on each other or speculate in unproductive ways. It's ok to just be sad without needing to do anything else, especially fight amongst ourselves.
