Freddy always felt like a good choice for me. Halloween, just don't go to Haddonfield. Jason, if you stay out of camp crystal lake your odds are better tho not 100% cause he likes to travel. I think with the ring you just don't look her in the eye, right?

But with Freddy you have to sleep eventually, and the feeling of being so miserably tied but not being able to sleep is a top tier terrible feeling.

 

Also re-watched dead silence for the first time in a long time and I'm not saying this is practical, but also put a gag in with a mask over ur face and you'll be breezing around with no problem. I presume that would be enough because muffled screams don't seem to count, since at one point he puts his hand over his mouth while screaming and didn't die.

 

It also has one of the only good songs Aiden ever put out.

 

I’d say Freddy Krueger because he’s literally an evil magic man that haunts your dreams and drops bad puns as he tries to kill you.

 

the entity from It Follows would be pretty terrifying considering it could be anyone around you

Candyman still scares the fuck out of me.

 

For me, it's what I can't see that scares me the most. Just that feeling of knowing something is out there with it's eyes on you and you have no idea where is just terrifying. Just any form of horror that does that fucks me up.

 

I still remember the first time I saw The Conjuring in theaters and being absolutely floored at how effective the bedroom scene is where the girls are freaking out and you end up seeing nothing at all

 

What freaks me out most is something look at you from afar.

It Follows, Hereditary, and Halloween all do that so well.

 

I still think this is one of the scariest scenes in modern horror. the build-up to seeing Bathsheba on the cabinet is absolutely terrifying, when it first came out I was watching through my fingers lmao

along these lines because it happens in the Blair Witch movies - when you’re outside in the dark and someone you’re with starts screaming/yelling or turns on a flashlight. I’ve had it happen in real life and it disturbs me so much because I always think, “well if something is out there and didn’t know where we were it sure does now!” like… turning a light on means that it there is something out there it now confirms where you are because it can see the light / heat you! Just shut the fuck up and don’t do that lol

Same tbh, I just saw people mentioning Paimon a lot on tiktok but they weren't talking about Hereditary so I had to look into it

I'm pretty sure Paimon is also the demon in The Last Exorcism. Or he's at least mentioned

 

I actually enjoyed that movie quite a bit. And I think you're right as far as mentioning Paimon.

 

saw this early last year during Sundance. it's so fucking good.

 

I started this a couple of weeks ago but got pulled away. Really liked what I saw and maybe I’ll go back to it today; thanks for the reminder.
