They fixed your brain when you were young.

I grew up in a super conservative Christian household, so I had to sneak listening to these guys as a pre-teen. I'd watch their videos on YouTube late at night, hide their CDs in cases for other bands, only listen with headphones. I think keeping these guys a secret from my parents always made me bond with their music a little more and made them a little more 'rock and roll' to me. Things felt a little more special and rebellious.

Once I got older and started driving, re-buying the CDs and playing them in my car made me fall in love with the albums all over again. I can so clearly remember the first time I watched the video for Ebolorama, heard Wanderlust while spinning New Junk for the first time in my car, hearing The Coin Has A Say when they released the single.

They were the first band I ever stage dove to when I was a confused teenager looking for answers and a way to express myself at a show and I'm sure they'll be the last band I'll ever stage dive to as a still confused 30-year-old who just couldn't help himself at their 20 Years of Bullshit tour when they closed with Map Change.

Best to ever do it. They will be sorely missed.

Without a doubt the best show I’ve ever been was ETID. Absolute must see every time they were in town. My friends and I were joking that we should have gone to all three Colorado shows on the last tour. Should have done it.

I was pressured to chaperone my younger sister and her friend to warped tour in 2012 and I mainly agreed cause ETID was playing. I wore flip flops and drank a bunch of beer before their set and absolutely destroyed my feet. I also crowd surfed for the first time in my life. It was a turning point for me in terms of what a live show could be and I will never forget that experience ever.

ETID, The Chariot, and Kills And Thrills in tiny little New Brookland Tavern. That was a real motherfucker of a show. letlive. was on the tour, but missed that date for some reason. One of my most cherished shows.

I keep thinking about sad shit like the fact that Goose only got to record one record for ETID despite joining in 2017.

He crushed that one album though, so heck of a performance to have on record!

Goose seems like a cool ass dude that has a passion for drums. He also killed it on Norma Jean’s Wrongdoers and Polar Similar!

For some reason Radical was the first album in vinyl I purchased from these guys, so I went ahead and purchased the new colored variants releasing in the UK on Friday just in case. Here they are if anyone is interested:

ETID is the only band I can remember the exact moment I completely feel in love with them. It was like a coming to jesus moment. I was in my basement in 2007 with friends, my basement was a hang out to play nintendo 64 and smoke pot, a buddy of mine was playing his ipod on one of those older model ipod speaker docks.

That final minute of We'rewolf came on with that great riff and let me tell you, maybe the pot had something to do with it but it blew my fuckin mind. Listening to that final minute blew my god damn mind. It was like each second of it got better too, I felt like II was hearing everything I ever wanted music to ever be.

I knew ETID and I knew Hot Damn but ever since that moment in my basement they have been numero uno for me. I listened to TBD and Gutter for a year straight, I was embarrassed playing it in front of my friends after a while because it's nearly all I listened to for quite a while.

I've seen them at least 15 times, I've bro hugged them a bunch of times after shows because they were always just walkin around before and after their set and were super approachable. A couple of users that used to be on here were gracious enough to buy a cameo with Keith to congratulate me on 5 years in recovery. He genuinely congratulated me and admitted it was still a struggle he deals with too and then he warned me about scrotal rash from bad hygiene because Cam and Derek who got me the cameo told him I always smell like I just got out of the pit :crylaugh:.

Best show I ever went to for them was this surprise show they announced the day before in Poughkeepsie, NY at this random bar with a small stage (not The Chance, i've seen them there too) and there must have been only 75 people there. It wasn't even a stage it was a platform. They played like there was three thousand people there.

I had quite a few ETID songs randomly come on spotify today and every time it was like the same feeling punch in the gut.

These guys are so much more than a band to me (and all of us), as I was typing this I really started to think about the reality of them not being a thing anymore, its a fucking bummer. I was so used to just being plugged into what they were doing at the time.

Hope this gets resolved privately and with minimal disasters.

Thank you if you made it through this all hah.

If ETID never makes another record, they will have made nine albums that all feature different rhythm section combinations. Wild lol.

Went out on top musically with a phenomenal record.

Can't thank ETID enough for the memories. Most bands would be lucky to make it half as long as EITD ran.

Keith is not ok. He’s lost his wife, and now his band of 23 years. He’s clearly not himself. Can’t imagine how this will affect his daughter. I suggest we all just mourn the band and say nothing about his mental state.

I found them when they opened for The Devil Wears Prada in like 2011. I thought they sucked, lmao. I was used to my heavy music being a little more shiny, I guess. Then I went back and listened to Ex-Lives and they won me over.

I mean surely one party would have the receipts wether or not they tried to establish contact. I know we're just fans and this isn't a court of law but given the fact that being an ETID fan has been part of my personality longer than it hasn't, I would appreciate not being lied to.

Seems like a pretty straightforward accounting of events. Who knows if anything's full truth from one side but it at least gives me a little hope that he is actually doing OK (as ok as one in could be in this ugly situation)
