Pampered ass Americans with their outrageously expensive health care, crippling student debt, and sky high housing prices.

Who works minimum wage these days?

Even so, even McDonalds is like $16 an hour

If somehow Blink gets added and announced later on, I’m in there. In any case, there’s a few artists in the lineup that Travis works with closely so I can see him popping up for a set or two.

A ton of people in the service industry do and that $16 is mostly in states with high cost of living. Not everywhere. Regardless wages haven’t risen as much as the cost of living and a lot of people still struggle to pay their bills in this country.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

It would be pretty cool if they did another one of these, but with a metal/metalcore lineup. Instead of MCR and Paramore, you’d get A7X and Slipknot, and then a bunch of older metalcore/heavier post hardcore bands (Norma Jean, Converge, Poison The Well etc) and metal bands with crossover popularity (Deftones, Lamb Of God, etc).

So basically, Furnace Fest with larger headliners lol

So there was another Live Nation hip hop/r&b festival in Vegas last year, also 60 acts and 1 day. Here's what the schedule looked like. It was 3 rotating stages (Festival Owl also confirmed that's the set up for this) all playing at the same time. Earlier acts got 20 minutes, then mid day 40 minutes, and final acts getting an hour.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

That honestly looks so sick. Love the concept of bands just getting right to it.

  18. Frye Festival was random people that had never done anything close to throwing a festival trying to make shit up and do a weird destination festival with shady contracts and no planning. This is the largest live entertainment company in the world doing it in a place they’ve done this exact thing for other genres in the past. I’ve seen that comparison a few times today but don’t see really any similarities.

I mean if I went to this I would have to hold off going to a lot of shows for a while to save money so you can say pampered Americans all you want but it’s not a simple as that. With flights, lodging, tickets, food, transportation, it adds up.

This will be fine. A bit overly ambitious? Probably. But it will not be a disaster.

I am tempted to fly over from Australia for this...alas, the uncertainty of our international borders and what covid will be like nine months from now is a slight deterrent...

yeah… I can’t believe so many of us don’t want to blow a minimum of $1000 for one day

  23. That’s my guess. I bet we see a handful of bands drop for one reason or another, which actually may help the whole thing in the end. They might have overbooked with that assumption built in.
