  1. I honestly have such a hard time separating Amber from the character she played on Better Things that I’m not sure I’m ever gonna love her in anything lol. But she had moments in this, I think. It was quick, but I liked her little “ree ree ree” thing in the kitchen with the knife haha — part of a sweet spot where she channeled a convincing maniacal energy before she got to the point of just screaming through the rest of the final act

They were painting her as the “dark” one so much that I genuinely did not see her actually being the killer. If that was an intentional subversion then it really worked on me haha

I enjoyed Amber more the second time around. Enjoyed her in the third act.

The knife part was the best - and the bit in the basement. When she goes full tilt it’s a bit much. Sometimes I find that when all the new villains try to just imitate the same madness of Stu and billy it just seems contrived. Be your own psycho, kids lol

  4. Yeah I liked that Jill (or Roman, for that matter) didn’t really try going into that territory much. Though I guess their motives were much more steeped in wrath and revenge than the motives of 5, which basically boils its villains down to copycats

I get that it “needs” to be meta in some ways but as they said - the best way to make a sequel is to go back to the basics. If they continue I think things need to be a bit less gimmicky on the part of the villains. Kirby meet Mindy lol Ready - go!

Lol yeah as soon as I saw the shallow slash on the boyfriend I was suspicious and my mind went to the first one with them instructing how to make a shallow but believable cut.

Don’t they ALL get that cut on the arm? I feel like this is a thing…

It reminded me of it happening to Syd’s BF from 2 and it did make me suspicious of Richie.

Emma gets cut there too - in the stairwell - it’s officially a thing lol

There’s nothing woke about Scream. Youtube clickbait reactionaries are making up stuff to be livid again.

At this point, it has to just be for clicks or to get the attention of left wing folks to make easy dunks. Either way, they deserve zero attention.

Some of their opionions/rankings are weird to me. Having said that, there is some decent commentary on things I never considered. The lack of woodsboro as a character and real fun is a legit gripe I didn’t personally have but do now lol thanks guys!

Man, re-watched 3 today and, while most of that one was pretty awful, the stuff with her visions of her mom in the dreams and the movie set scene with ghostface under the sheet speaking in the mom’s voice, pretty genuinely terrifying stuff. kinda forgot how scary these movies can be while at the same time being so intentionally campy/corny as well. Cant wait to see the new one.

  17. 3/5. So did Joshua Jackson go to college with Sydney and Randy or did the kid from film class get cast in Dawson’s Creek? Also, the publicity photo of Billy from the making of STAB doc just being a still from SCREAM was a giggle moment for me. Loved all the fan service stuff!

Honestly my only gripe is that no one checked anyone's pulse in this one which was always my favorite part of 3 and 4.

Had a third viewing today with my mom. It’s been a tradition of ours to go see them together since 2 and she couldn’t go until today and I couldn’t wait that long lol. I’m ready to slot this in at #3 in my ranking I think. 1 and 4 still higher and 3 still at the bottom.

not without issues but i liked it. mostly disappointed that i had about seven others in my audience at a 4:30 showing. will gladly come back to this even if i’m concerned about how rewatchable it is or not

on another note, it was nice to have a major blockbuster chain like regal require me to show proof of vaccination before i could even flash my ticket, even if that’s more of the city’s standards and practices than the theater chains’

  25. Yeah I went to a regal and there wasn’t any of that haha. But there were only 5 other people in the auditorium, all spread out and most of us with masks so not a huge deal
