At least with this film there is an excuse for an empty hospital floor since Sam requested for Tara to be placed in a private floor.

Literally could have been in an empty Times Square on New Years if it meant Sam didn’t suck so bad hahaha

obv idk what it's like to have a serial killer as a father but I disliked the angst in Sam's storyline about turning into him like sis u never even met him and he didnt raise u at all. Go to therapy and read about nature vs nurture and move on. Lol I know thats harsh and she was a kid but like ur an adult now it should be obvious that you didn't end your parents marriage and the cheating mom did. Like I get her guilt over it FOR SURE but the few times she mentioned ending their marriage and seemed to earnestly believe that I felt like such a bitch but was like sis come on.

I think the problem was I just felt so emotionally disconnected from her that I wasn't rly empathetic to her story even tho i was supposed to be

You’re a better actor, Greg. Cmon. Also (not her fault) but she didn’t even know Her uncle - why would she simply envision him as if she was there that night? Silly ass decision.

I thought she was fine. I would imagine they made Billy look like that in the Stab movies and that’s how she would know what he looked like then. Doesn’t bother me either way though.

I liked Sam and Tara the most out of all the new characters.

Tara was definitely the bright spot of the new cast for me.

Def the savoy girl. Had amber been used differently, I think she is hella great. Not big on any of the others, but Ortega was fine.

It’s not too early for me to say Mindy is a top five character for me.

I guess my nitpick would be that the high schoolers mostly looked too old for high school, which I know is common for movies. But they mentioned Sam left when Tara was 8 and she was gone for 5 years. That would make Tara 13. And why would a 13 year old be hanging out with the older kids like that? 13 year olds don’t live alone while their mom is in London or take Ubers or throw parties with all this beer. Unless I misheard the whole 5 years thing. Also, weren’t they hanging out at a bar?

I did love the movie though and had only really seen the original.

I think their dad left when she was 8. Sam stuck around for a few more years iirc

a cooler Dewey death woulda been when he was approaching the downed ghostface, the second ghostface popped out and got him. That way it’s a double reveal moment for the audience that there’s two killers!

I was really thinking there would be three killers this time lol EVERYONE IS THE KILLER WITHOUT KNOWING THERE ARE OTHER KILLERS

As soon as Dewey closed the elevator door and wouldn’t let anyone else go with him I knew it was going to happen. I was dreading it. I was expecting him to kill the ghostface he knocked down and then a second ghostface kill him tbh.

Yeah he was so careful about the rules and made it all this time throughout the franchise, and a ringing phone takes him out?? The disrespect! I can ignore a phone ringing when I'm focused typing on my computer at work let alone confronting a killer like stop. Especially when he knew Ghostface was probably still alive since he mentioned the double tap rule. I'm upset for him that his story ended so sad too. He had to be miserable in between 4 and this one and then die

Yeah he at least went down fighting and trying to protect other people. His death is also one of the best in the series. Can’t really complain. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Does no one see the irony of the phone call being the distraction that did him in? That made it that much more sad and poetic for me.
