their involvement in that movie calls both of their tastes into question

 

There are some directors who have never made a bad film but I can't think of an actor (with a decently long career) who doesn't star in at least one bad movie.

I don't remember his early career, but Joaquin Phoenix is pretty choosy with roles.

And immediately after posting this I remembered Joker.

 

Daniel Day Lewis and Philip Seymour Hoffman were the first names that came to mind, but I agree there is probably no actor's resume that is completely dud-free.

 

It is a lot harder as an actor because you don't have control of the final product. You can turn in a great performance but everything around you is a dud.

 

PSH was sadly in the third Hunger Games movie

 

I would put PSH in the category of someone who never gave a bad performance, even if the movie was bad. Can’t think of a bad performance of his.
