I had no idea that Meg Ryan is Jack Quaid’s mom

  2. Also shout out to Richardson from Hot Rod, could not stop picturing this every time he was on screen

  3. Saw it tonight. So great. I think I had low expectations if I’m being honest and I’m so glad I did because it made me appreciate it so much more.

  4. Jfc! I can’t believe you stayed haha, this sounds infuriating. Bring on the meteor

This was fantastic. Can we also appreciate the banger that the end credits song is lol

    RIP fav character

Love that Tara lived. It was a good change to have the opening character not only survive but give the final kill. I loved the film nerd (Randy’s niece IIRC) in this. She def acted like someone related to him lol A lot better than the copycats in previous films.

Also, the girl who was caught on fire during her death is also the one Leo torched in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I believe that was intentional.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. So many things about it to love as a franchise fan. Absolutely thrilled with how topical and relative this was, especially in regards to most recent horror. Kicking things off with a discussion about elevated horror was great. I was super skeptical going in, but this delivered. It's also still funny to me to watch this movie with the very casual Scream fan (we saw it with a couple who saw a few of the older ones years ago but never really loved them) and find them to be meh on it. Also surprised to see the Woodsboro fb group shitting all over it tbh.

Enjoyed this a lot, even though I don't see it surpassing 1, 2, or 4. There were a few details that held it back for me, and I missed Williamson's writing. Mostly really liked the cast. I thought it was pretty easy to guess the killers but that's no big deal

Biggest suspense of disbelief was that Rian Johnson would make a bad slasher reboot

The biggest gripe I had about the new cast is more with how their characters were written than their acting. If you lived in a small town where a series of murders sparked an 8 movie franchise (Stab), I feel like you would have a little bit more knowledgeable about the situation than any of the characters seemed to have.

When they went into the whole elevated horror vs horror rules part, it just seemed clumsy, no one would talk to their group of friends like that.

I agree no one would talk to their friend group like that but also hospitals are not empty like that. Always gotta suspend disbelief with these movies lol

People having unrealistic conversations about horror is a staple of the series though

It was a shot at Gen Z not giving a shit about the Scream series

That makes sense I guess, but it seemed like they were just clueless about their hometown? If I was a teen and there were previously 2 murderous rampages in my town that targeted teens, I think I'd be more aware, regardless if they were made into movies or not.

I mean, we have a "haunted road" in my hometown that teens have been telling stories about for years, if kids had actually been killed there I'm sure the story would be even more infamous locally.

I rationalized this because they agreed to put her on a private floor, so it'd make sense for there to be no other patients. But not even one nurse? Also, how did the killer cut the power to the entire floor in a hospital without anyone on any of the other floors noticing?

Who played Randy in his Stab scene? I didn't recognize him and I can't find it listed anywhere.

Seeing as all the other characters are big cameos, I assume he was too

It isn't one of the directors, is it?

This was rad as hell had a great time. My main complaint is the CGI Billy stuff. Unnecessary

the kills were so good. Up there with 1 and 2 for me

It was also neat to see James and Chelsea from Dead Meat both have a cameo

  24. Said it in my long post last night but despite the hospital thing being weird, it was the same way in 4. It bothered me way more there than it did here because now it’s at least just sort of expected

I'm hoping they pass the torch to Jenna Ortega and keep this series going.
