really really want to see this but cases in Australia are so fucked and I've just got over COVID. I'm also certain the killer(s) will get comprehensively spoiled for me by the time this thing comes out on digital, whenever the hell that actually is. whole situation is dookie

    Completely non-spoiler thoughts:

    - I really enjoyed it. Was very funny, bloody and thrilling.

    - The new characters aren’t that memorable, but I don’t think “Scream” fans really expect it at this point.

    - I thought Jack Quaid was Joshua Jackson from “Scream 2” when he first appeared and I got excited.

    - I feel like it finally got the look right for this. It’s overly bright like the first two or weirdly dim like “4.” I feel like the “Ready or Not” folk did a solid job taking Craven’s style, modernizing it and making it their own.

    - Was happy to see a certain font and song return.

My best friend and I live 3 states away from each other. We are both attending the Scream Fan Event on our respective locations and it’s the closest we can get to going to the movies together. This truly feels special.

Seeing this tonight. I hope the AMC has a themed cocktail

  12. Keeping an eye on the online seating charts for two theaters nearby. One of them only has two unavailable seats currently for an 8pm showing, might be able to see this tonight after all

I’m glad my theater isn’t full because of health reasons but also a little bummed because I was kinda hoping for a full theater. Could have made it a more fun experience. Starts in 5 minutes!!!!

Just saw it. I liked it alot. Easily the best sequel in the series. I really liked the characters of Sam and Tara, easily the fan favorites out of the new characters.
    Spoilers below

I could sense Dewey’s death was coming, but it still hit hard. He’s my favorite character in the franchise but he easily has the best death in the entire series.
Sam being Billy’s daughter was a nice surprise, as well as the recurring appearances of Billy.
The killers motives were eh, but I haven’t enjoyed the motives since the first film so it’s not a big deal.
Solid 8.5/10. Maybe after some viewings I’ll like it more than original.

The thoughts behind the motives are definitely real, but for those to be the reason for the murders just kind of felt underwhelming. That said, it’s just a minor thing out of a pretty well written film overall.

Not gonna say it’s a great motive, but believable to me.

Fun movie…but was that CGI in her “visions”? It was really distracting.
