We're All Gonna Die sounds weird and far less chaotic then the DG version and that's disappointing.

 

“thorn” and “take a breath” are the best songs ever made

 

i do not hear the significant difference between "we're all gonna die" live and studio other than... somehow underoath performing this album live breathes more than the actual album lol

I’m assuming this leaked? Bummed to hear about We’re All Gonna Die not having the same chaotic energy that it had on Digital Ghost since that’s one of my favorite tracks.. oh well.

Hopefully, they release DG as a live album in a few months.

 

it is neat to notice details in the studio version that i couldn't hear in digital ghost. good to have both imo

 

i respectfully disagree. WAGD sounds fucking amazing on the album.

I think the part that's throwing me off is just how cleaner everything sounds lol. On repeated listens it's growing on me

 

tfw when "take a breath" comes out of "(no oasis)" and it's just like.... RIFF

 

That’s what I was worried about.

I love the sound from Digital Ghost since it has a raw feel to it.. I’m sure I’ll feel the same as you but that it’ll grow on me too.

 

The eventual release has been getting me through the week. Can't wait for midnight!

i'm really impressed by the vocal harmonies all over this thing. they either weren't really present on DG or i just didn't notice them before. either way, they work really well.

vocal clarity is the one clear advantage of the album production... it does feel way more compressed than digital ghost tho

 

I haven't listened to either version yet, but that all changes tonight. Going to listen to the album version before I run through the live version.

 

I have listened to both versions ungodly amounts of time and I honestly don't hear that much of a difference. Both are just incredible, which makes sense because the "live" version was supposed to sound close to the recorded.

I basically only listen to the studio version these days though.

 

I personally enjoy the clarity of the studio version a bit more, but they both slap incredibly hard and I’ll cherish both versions.

 

I never got the chance to hear the digital ghost broadcast but heard so many positive things. Really hope I can dig it up somewhere.

very excited to hear this, have spent very little time with the singles besides damn excuses when I played to death the week it came out lol. But today I’ve been rocking LISTSOS and disambiguating starting to get hype as fuck. won’t be listening til it’s officially out

 

I have somehow managed to successfully avoid everything but the first two singles from this, so needless to say, I'm really excited for tomorrow.

Yeah… I see what people are saying about We’re All Gonna Die… damnit.

One thing I loved about Digital Ghost was the cool atmospheric intros/outros which led into most tracks and it’s sorely missed here. It’s nice to hear vocals better but yeah.. I think I prefer DG.

 

Aren’t we supposed to get the video download on release? Obvi only applies to those who bought it but makes me wonder if I misremembered the timelines here
