I follow a couple of Harry stans on twitter who "sat through a garbage 3 hour movie for 10 seconds of Harry." Thought it was pretty funny.

 

I asked my girlfriend before the movie came out if she wanted to see it and she said no. Then after I saw it she said "oh I wanted to see that... for Harry Styles". I was like no you don't he's not really in it

 

I know some Harry Styles stans that still wanted to see it even after I told them he’s only in a post-credits scene.

Zendaya is barely in the first Dune, mostly just some scattered dream sequences where she hardly says anything. They're still gonna market that she's in it and her fans are still gonna go watch it and I think that's fine.

Going for just a post-credits scene, though? This Harry Styles person must be rather powerful.

 

Finally saw this and it wasn't half as bad as the critics consensus or whatever is making it out to be.

Sure some of the jokes didn't land but that happens in a handful of MCU movies, and the humor that did work was pretty good. Kumail's iPad line had me dying.

I appreciated finally having an MCU movie that took its time with its characters and stories and wasn't throwing jokes at me every other minute.

Just watched this and thought it was pretty good albeit really slow at times.

 

It’s not that bad. I was able to watch in twice in a cinema and enjoyed it.

 

15 minutes in and already rolling my eyes at the shitty dialogue in this

 

The dialogue is the worst part but the themes and concepts are pretty great

 

The themes are the best part and made me think this would have worked far better as a Disney+ show

 

Yeah this wasn’t my thing. Like, at all.

 

It's hilarious how Kit Harrington finds out his girlfriend is an immortal alien with powers and almost get killed by an evil lizard dog in the same night and his reaction is just like "oh interesting".

 

To be fair, he was told everything previously and did express shock when he realized it was all true, plus there's hints about his family history that he's not exactly unaware of strange and dangerous things.

 

Can any character really be full of surprise after half of all life vanished and returned?

Yeah any takes like “wow this person sure didn’t react at all to [X] happening, hmmmmmmmmm” are pretty much nonsense at this point. If you lived in a world where all the things that have happened in the MCU thus far have happened, does anything surprise you anymore? I don’t think so.
