I fell through a frozen lake but fortunately was close to the shore and was only up to my waist. Think I went temporarily blind with shock, I would absolutely die if I went fully under.

RIP to my hero, the true ice man

 

wait this is insane that we all have that shared experience lol

 

Grew up in Florida so never fell into any frozen water but have fallen into gator infested water which provides a similar danger

 

I’ve been in a lake

 

I was with my friends and a guy from work (who didn't know how to swim but he was training to be a marine) walking by the river that leads to a dam/waterfall). He thought it would be "extreme" to go walk on the ice and ended up falling through. I took a few steps out to go help him and I went under as well (all the way underwater). I just remember fighting to grab onto ice that kept breaking under me and eventually my brother pulled me out.

My clothes froze solid on the walk back to the car and we just laughed it off, drove to my house so I could change and secretly put my clothes somewhere to thaw that my parents wouldn't see, and went out to eat dinner.

Mine was during a childhood snow day. We had recently moved from Canada to North Carolina, and I was trying to impress my friends by showing them how it definitely wasn’t a big deal to be walking on top of the frozen lake. Turns out it wasn’t as solid as the frozen lakes I was used to up north. Thankfully my house was like a two or three minute walk back.

 

Whenever falling through ice gets brought up, it always makes me think of a movie that borderline traumatized me as a boy:

Just listened to the Drop Off. I was at that Dallas show (as was @riotspray ) and while I am sad that we aren't a "cool city" like Austin and Houston I get it

I don't remember the raccoon or the bartender's overalls though

I’m watching fast foodies and it’s a good concept but the chefs don’t have the personality to carry a show.

alright I think I'm officially in, I listened to eps 1 & 2, and then just scrolled through and curated a list of guests I like. so far listened to chipotle w/ hanford, wendy's w/ paul rust, KFC w/ PFT, pizza hut w/ neil campbell, and now listening to jimmy john's w/ lauren lapkus.

 

Good on them for continuing to do the right thing. I'll be there when it's rescheduled.
