Here are my thoughts on Flores:

He is obviously a tremendous defensive coach. He is also obviously clueless on how to build an offensive staff. They had a different OC every year and a different OL coach every year.

Kyle Van Noy hated him/butted heads with him a lot and got run out of town for it. Ereck Flowers hated him and got ran out of town for it. Minkah Fitzpatrick hated him and requested a trade because of it (fuck that guy though). Devante PArker liked the IG post of him getting fired and was in the comments arguing with fans yesterday. There are strong rumors that him and Tua got into it after the Titans game last week. There are rumors that he and Grier didnt talk at all the past few weeks. There are rumors of offensive coaches/players being "relieved" that he is no longer in the building.

If it were one or two of these things, maybe you chalk it up to BS but when you put it all together, it really sounds like he is just an arrogant asshole that is really hard to work with. And considering that he was groomed under Belichick, that isnt that surprising in all honesty.

The other thing I find weird is the media (rightly) criticized the Dolphins all year...even when they won 7 in a row, it was "eh but they havent really played anyone that great". And now that he is gone, people are acting as if the Dolphins fired Vince Lombardi here...its a little ridiculous.

Like I said, I don't like Grier and liked Flores better than him tbh. If they were going to do this, I would rather they have started over completely. Grier has been failing upwards for 20 years with nothing to show for it.

If Flores was really pushing to get Deshaun Watson good riddance. I know he won’t be the only one but to hell with that. Couldn’t possibly root for a team that signs him.

I'm glad you said all of this because I have been looking into potential DC candidates in the event that Gannon gets hired away from the Eagles and I have read/listened to some similar things about Mike Zimmer.

From everything I've seen/heard, it sounds like Zimmer was a massive asshole towards the media, players, and coaches, especially towards the end of his tenure. Like, the shit with Kellen Mond in week 17 and then the Justin Jefferson stuff this past weekend. Eric Kendricks just said "I don't think a fear-based organization is the way to go." Zimmer historically has had problems with offensive coordinators. Obviously, his relationship with Cousins wasn't good.

I've just been hearing a lot of negative things about him lately. I get that he's a good defensive mind, but I'd be a little concerned about a team hiring him to be a DC. Seems like he could be a culture issue, even if it's on a smaller scale, and could maybe even result in a power struggle with the HC or GM of a team he winds up on. Seems like a guy who could maybe benefit from taking a year off and coming back in 2023.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with Flores, but I've just been seeing a lot of Eagles fans/media (and fans/media from other teams as well) say that teams would be lucky to have Flores or Zimmer as their DC, but they just seem like assholes to me at this point.

Maybe Fangio is one too, idk. I'd like to read/listen to a comprehensive run down of his tenure with the Broncos, among other stops in his career.

 

If O'Brien ultimately becomes the HC for the Jaguars, then they deserve every losing season they earn. That team is such a massive joke lol

 

I think if I could have any head coach I'd want Tomlin or John Harbaugh

dudes with an edge that don't seem like complete assholes

John Harbaugh is 100% an asshole and i'll never understand why he continues to get such a pass lol

 

John is a whiner but I get why as a fan people would want him because people (especially me) are also whiners

 

Harbaugh is also sharp so at least he's not a dumb asshole
