And I realized I have literally zero idea where they're going to go with the women's title. Do they keep up the trend of Becky being right there, only for it to be snatched away? If so, who do you have take the belt from her? Nikki seems like the only logical choice, but then do they run her vs. Becky? I feel like they're gonna want to continue this Carmella/Nikki feud first. punk should never step into the octagon again. if his shortcomings all boiled down to knowledge and experience, that is simple enough. but i dont think punk at any point in his life has been physically strong enough to go toe to toe with any half decent mma guy, the idea that that's going to come together now as he approaches 40(in conjunction with him overcoming deficits in knowledge and experience that can not be overstated) requires a massive suspension of disbelief.

 

Anyone else find it really odd that the Backlash card only has 6 matches? And that Corbin and Crews dont have a match scheduled?

Seems like oddly poorly planning for their midcard

 

Probably not even going to watch Backlash because Football. Plus the only match I'm remotely interested in is Ambrose/Styles

 

Not only is it six matches, but two of them are essentially for tag titles

 

Well, and unless the womens elimination match or one of the tag title matches runs 20+, I just dont know how they fill time until 10:30, let alone 11

 

They had two weeks and they punted

 

I wouldn't be surprised if we get an in ring promo either

 

NXT is usually able to go 2 1/2 with only 6 matches so if they followed the same format of those they'll be able to do it. Mayne they add a match or segment to fill out the extra 30 minutes.

Plus one tag team is wrestling twice. I also will not be watching probably either.

 

Not sure how legitimate the source is, but (Backlash news warning) Orton wasn't cleared to compete today like they were expecting.

Whoa. Wonder what they could do if this is true

 

Makes it even harder to believe this show is going more than like 2hrs. Im sure we get a "Randy is randomly injured backstage...who attacked him?" angle. And they could certainly have someone come out to face him to fill time.

But starting to feel like that AJ/Dean match is going 30+ mins

 

Honestly, if the show was only 2 hours, but all the matches were good, I'd be happy. I agree, they'll probably do the who attacked him thing, which the answer will be Luke Harper. Maybe they can use the heat to get Bray into the IC title picture because at this point he just needs to carry a belt.

 

I agree about shorter shows. I kind of hope the trend of brand-specific PPVs is they are like 2.5hrs with no pre-show match.

Clash of Champions may fit that bill as well, throw a CW match on the pre-show and itd be great at NXT Takeover length.
