everyone has their opinions, and it's a good album, but the nothing comes close makes me wish we had a thumbs down option.

But nothing comes close to those animal sound effects!!!! Ha... I've been meaning to edit those out so I can full enjoy that album. I should do that today.

 

Guy from ADTR joined them for playing Don't Leave Me last night. Neat.

 

Recently I've found myself enjoying California a lot more now than when it was first released

 

I keep going "alright time to put California to rest." And I'll go like a couple days not listening, then suddenly get the urge and listen to it all the way through twice lol

 

I play it maybe once a week now

 

I gave my copy three listens when it came out, and then completely gave up on it and gave the copy to my older brother. Haven't felt the urge to listen to it again.

 

Haven't listened to California in a decent while, but have spun a lot of Alkaline Trio this weekend since the blink show.

 

Aside from new music, I've been listening to a lot of Angels & Airwaves/Untitled in place of California

 

I just can't seem to go back to AvA anymore :(. I really loved the first two albums, liked love 1 ok, only liked a couple songs from love 2, and liked Dream Walker OK. But I haven't gone back to them since the week DW dropped. Honestly I'd take anything on California over 95% of AvA catalogue.

 

While looking for them on late night shows....

I guess i thought "in my opinion" was implied in my post, obviously it's my opinion and everyone has their own and I respect and understand those with a different opinion. For me personally I hold Dude Ranch on such a high pedestal that nothing comes close to it.....that's all I meant.

So Im listening to a Spotify playlist of Blink, and all of a sudden I say to myself:

Self, that sounds like Robert Smith singing....

Yeah. I hadn't heard that one before. lol!

 

Went to the St. Louis show last night. Man that was so much fun. My take on the show...

That was by far the biggest show I've ever seen at that amphitheater. The crowd was PACKED all the way up to the very edge of the lawn against the back fence. I could not believe blink can still bring a crowd like that without even having Tom.

The sound was garbage all night. No idea what the deal was there, but half the time they had Matt waaaay louder than Mark. I also felt like the drums lacked any punch. Not their fault though considering the other two bands sounded that way as well. A speaker blew during AAR's second song so there was a loud crackling sound. They had to take a break for a good 15 minutes and just talk while they fixed it.

Loved all the new songs. I've been pro-Skiba this whole time, but part of me felt kind of weird when they played "Reckless Abandon" and "Dysentary Gary" without Tom. When they would play the new songs that Skiba co-wrote, it felt much more natural.
