The more I think about the open HC gigs, the more I believe that there aren’t any good landing spots. There’s intrigue with the Jags and Bears because of Lawrence and Fields, but the historical dysfunction within those organizations from the ownership level down is not good

So tell me something awesome Supporter

I do like MIN as a better opening than DEN too, you get Cousins for 1 year while you figure the rest out (and you can do a lot worse with a stopgap, even at his ridiculous price) and a lot of pieces are in place for you immediately after, plus everything @Dinkleberg said.

They’ve had that defense for a few years now with little to show for it

and who knows if Rodgers will even be in that division next season. i agree that Minn. is a way more attractive opening than Denver.

They've had a great defense to show for it! They just haven't had a QB. The offensive talent is certainly there. Draft Pickett and go off

He already said he’s coming back after losing by 30 to the bears, not sure what would make him change his mind lol

It’s a solid landing spot for sure. Don’t think there would be as many organizational worries there as there would be with, like, half the other openings. They just desperately need to nail the QB position

The broncos are in a tough division but the team is and has been solid for awhile, just needs the right coach to turn things around.

I don’t understand this idea that McGovern is bad.

    He’s fine.

RG is a problem is LDT goes back into the medical field, which sounds like it could happen.

the Jags are def firing Baalke, I’d be pretty surprised if they still don’t

Shad Khan is a stupid owner but Pederson’s job would be very safe lol

  16. For the jags, just run a contest every week. Winner coaches the team.

He’s fine but i think either spot could still upgrade. I’m not sure who the rb is next season but I’m not sure carter is an every down starter so a lot of questions where somewhere is not a big need but maybe being better would help a lot. I’m not saying take ol and rb in the first two rounds is a must or anything, just that they need to figure something out to solidify something that could be really important for wilson. I don’t disagree with taking a wr/te one or two of those picks.

No such thing as an every down back in most offenses. Michael Carter had almost 1000 all purpose yards and missed basically 4 games. He's fine too.

The Jets need help at receiver, edge, and linebacker. The starting offensive line is perfectly capable, they were just injured all season. Guard becomes a big need if LDT isn't re-signed or he goes back to being a doctor.

Based on scheme fit, Jameson Williams should be the Jets target at #4. Nakobe Dean should be heavily considered at #10.

MIN is fine, especially if Rodgers does actually leave GB somehow...lots of offensive talent, an ok organization, etc.

Jags, Texas, Dolphins, Bears...not sure why a coach would want to go to any of those places when the dysfunction is clear. MIA might have seemed good...but now because players seem pissed and you just watched a coach who put together two near-playoff teams get canned.

Denver job is probably a close 1B to Min's 1A, now that Elway isnt the GM and Paton seems like he's not a total fuckup.

I’m all for it if Baalke is out and they bring in a GM that would work well with Doug and vice versa. Like I’ve said before, I think Doug would be a good fit there for the culture and for Lawrence if that organization can just get their fucking shit together lol

Yeah this is why Minnesota might honestly be at the top of my list for HC vacancies. Just looks like a clean slate for whoever comes in and I’d rather be there than in Denver or Vegas having to somehow win that division

He also managed to have absolutely no options behind his known mediocre and injury prone QB, managed to regress WRs (despite theoretically having been a WR coach in his career)...and the one thing he has been (special teams coach), his team was basically bottom 10 in the league.
