  1. When I first saw that guy I thought it was going to be something like Taxi Driver lol

I assumed the #12 guy was either a journalist or someone working for Wach’s opponent. Either way yeah he was definitely trying to expose him.

I figured it wasn't the type of movie where Benny Safdie would die, even without knowing Wachs was a real person, but it still made me anxious haha

There were so many great non sequiturs in this. Waits/Penn being the funniest, but the arrest scene, Alana’s interview and Cooper’s threats all really got me too.

the cut from yelling at este to sitting quietly with danielle and then snapping at her was so great

The arrest scene was so great. Especially when they take the handcuffs off and he doesn’t know what to do.

  7. that and the cut back to the kids in the back of the truck pretty far into the hill scene probably my two fave comedic moments

maybe alana immediately flying off the motorcycle too

This was fantastic, and the more I think about it the more I liked it. I want to see both Cooper and Alana get a ton of acting work now, and it was also nice to see Bradley Cooper do comedy again, his tiny role almost stole the whole movie for me

This was really good. I’m not sure there’s a writer/director out there who is as good at crafting interesting character and relationship studies like PTA. Hoffman and again we’re absolutely great. Bradley Cooper was a scene stealer as well.

Yeah, this was fantastic. PTA don't miss. Everyone crushed it, wish we had a little more Bradley Cooper.

The final moment felt a little odd to me, like it was purely a fantasy of Gary's but the movie is just as much (if not more?) from Alana's view so I don't know.

I enjoyed this. I’ve only seen a couple of the director’s films. I need to see the rest now. But a few people in my theater commented they didn’t like the age difference and I can totally see that.

It definitely felt like a lot more than a normal kids movie at the time.

I loved it as a kid but didn’t own it. I did own An Extremely Goofy Movie on VHS, which I watched a ton

I know I have seen A Goofy Movie, but I remember nothing about it.

  19. Had to google "Cheddar cheese goofy movie" to know which Goofy movie I saw when I was a kid and it's A Goofy Movie, I remember being glued to the tv. Need to rewatch now

I just cannot get over how good Alana Haim is in this movie. I really hope this is the start of a film career for her because holy shit. If it wasn't the most stacked acting year for women ever, she'd be my performance of the year.

I’m surprised there’s so much talk about the “racist” jokes in this considering the jokes are clearly on the racist buffoon

It's really the one thing I don't like in the movie. I love John Michael Higgins in pretty much everything, but I didn't get what the joke here was besides he's a goofy racist that has a thing for Asian women. The other people in the theater loved it and probably laughed the hardest at that. It doesn't detract my love of the movie, but you could easily remove it and nothing of value is lost.

I think Jerry (John Michael Higgns character) is supposed to be based on a real guy (who I would guess did that in real life). Either way, it did feel like it was there more for cheap laughs and could have been removed without losing the thematic value the character provides. We can already see that he uses his wives/girlfriends to lend a fake air of authenticity to his restaurant based on his insistence on the restaurant still being 'American' in the ad copy. The accent feels like an unsubtle way of telling us he's racist even though the context is already there for the audience to figure it out.
