Yeah I mean putting her in John Wick is a no-brainer, it’s honestly surprising she hasn’t been in it already.

Man on rewatch that line near the beginning where Groff says “But look at this place. We did this. Together.” has so much more meaning knowing he’s Smith. Love this movie.

I’m surprised that there’s more of a positive overall opinion about the movie than I thought. What I seem to notice the most is that some people who just don’t understand the matrix or haven’t watched it in a decade think “I know what they were going for but here’s how they actually should’ve done it”. It’s not just that, they’re veryyyyy loud about that and how much they think it sucked. If only wachowski listened to those dorks, could’ve saved the movie lol

Watched it again last night with my parents. They didn’t ask as many questions as I thought they would lol. I think it solidified as a great movie. Might enjoy it more than reloaded. Def like it more than revolutions.

One of my biggest takeaways from going through the trilogy and this new film is that the Revolutions critics are damn fools. I can’t believe I spent years believing that it’s a classic terrible trilogy ending without giving it a proper full watch. Don’t think I’ve been this egregiously wrong about a film since Jennifer’s Body.

It’s so good, y’all. Don’t understand how so many people can simultaneously love the first one and hate the third.

  11. Revolutions splits the difference between the first film and Reloaded, it's very satisfying imo

Finished this earlier. Pretty good! Last third kinda lost me for a little bit but overall I have no real complaints.

Seems like most people in this thread had seen the original trilogy well before this came out and had feelings/expectations based on that but I saw all of these movies for the first time this month. 2 and 3 are good, 1st is incredible and as others have said, probably one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

The Half in the Bag on this was fair I thought and I mostly agree with it.

The people calling this a rehash or nostalgia bait could not be missing the point more if they tried lol

  17. anti-TFA? so the people who liked TFA but hated TLJ will hate this? That's nice

Def a very very flawed movie (that i still love after a second watch), but ya it seems like a lot of the really negative reactions are missing the point

I thought that the romance was really effective and my favorite part of the movie, which is not how I felt about the romance in the original trilogy.

I liked how the first hour of the movie leaned so heavily into presenting a kind of uncanny valley of the Matrix. Really overt iconography usage, mirroring, callbacks, echoes, all to force the audience into Neo’s reawakening even though everyone watching likely has a pretty good idea of generally how he was being trapped. That said, I also wouldn’t want to see it again. It felt like a copy of a copy, and even if that’s intentional it isn’t particularly entertaining to revisit.
