Yeah that Roly Porter album absolutely destroys. Need to listen to that then

 

not ambient but for lack of a better place & because all of you will appreciate this gorgeous minimalist masterpiece

Yeah, seconding this recommendation: it's possibly my favorite album released this year. I love the other recordings of this piece, but this one wallops me emotionally every time I listen to it in a way the others don't.

 

New Benoît Pioulard album out recently as well.

Lake Mary bringing the pedal steel goodness.

 

Somehow missed that there was another BVDub release in November.

 

He has another one coming out on n5MD in February too.

It's 40 years this year since the first Cocteau Twins album and Robin's still writing music I like. Truly one of my favourite songwriters.

Been listening to this a lot since I saw Philip Sherburne tweet about it, what he described as “beautiful, deep, shape-shifting drones that inch right up to the edge of melody without ever tipping over into it”:

Also spending this morning listening to the new Parannoul side project, mydreamfever. Not quite ambient, but it’s close enough. Lush stuff. The piano parts and the vibe kind of remind me of Ironomi but more . . . grand?

 

Both of these are amazing!

It will pick up don't worry. This genre is hard to keep up with once it gets going.
