Wow. A true display of leadership!

 

As a former Marine myself, it sickens me to see just how bad far-right ideology has seeped into the troops. The Marine Corps always leaned more to the right, but it's gotten way worse after Trump. Seeing guys I used to consider brothers going down all the conspiracy theory rabbit holes breaks my heart. Now you have top generals warning of a potential coup within the active ranks that should frankly be alarming a lot more people than it currently is. 2024 is going to be a nightmare.

The at home tests I ordered came in. It feels nice knowing I have those in case we need them.

Had a big family gathering yesterday with my fiance's family, and her boss just texted her today to say her son has COVID and thus we've all been exposed. Coool.

Her boss is recently in remission from breast cancer, too, so I'm a bit worried for her. She's taken the pandemic very seriously, so I'm not upset with her for creating an unsafe work environment or something. Shit happens, unfortunately.

 

For those who have been exposed.. what have you done about necessary errands? We ran out of cat food and I was literally about to run to the gas station to grab a few cans to tide us over for our next grocery run

 

I think you HAVE to go anywhere, probably double mask it up. otherwise if you are able to do contactless delivery or contactless curbside maybe try that. or see if a family/friend can do whatever errands you need.

 

Yeahh, good call. I have no problem doing contactless delivery or curbside normally, but I have to feed my cat within the next hour .

She hasn't seen her boss since last Wednesday (she's on vacation) so I'm not sure how likely we are to be exposed

 

Positivity here has gone from like 5% a week ago to like 20% today. Omicron seems pretty nuts. Hopefully vaccines help keep hospitalizations down

 

Depending on where you live, if you have a small order on Instacart with a decent tip, they should be able to get it to you pretty quick, unless they’re the world’s worst shopper.

 

It takes about 5 days to be symptomatic and detectable so you'd know around now

Target curbside is within 2 hours and usually quicker

 

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it. I know Walmart often takes a few days before they have curbside availability, but maybe our Target is better .

No symptoms for her boss or either of us, so that's good. We have a few home tests, so gonna try those out next

 

Yeah target curbside is usually pretty quick. Pet smart does curbside too but we haven’t used that yet

 

Damn I must have missed the months long debate about whose going to pay for it.
