Yeah Im sure deaths will be much less. Hospitals around me (NE Ohio) are already putting out emergency statements and cancelling surgeries. So I am pretty worried about hospitalizations at least.

 

For sure, not judging. Well not judging many people at least, judging the hell out of the government response.

 

Yeah some friends of ours who are probably just as cautious as us and even working from home just got covid. Shits crazy rn

Yeah omicron seems to have the infectious ness of like measles or something. Insane

 

We're gonna be paying the price for mass infection with this for years/decades to come.

I had to explain to a woman on the phone tonight that if a vaccinated, asymptomatic negative friend hugged her (also fully vaxxed) at a Christmas party that she didn’t need to rush right into the hospital to be tested.

Ive had the sniffles/occasional runny nose and a headache since I got my 3rd dose the 17th. Headache is likely attributed to my medicine because it’s a common side effect. I’ve taken 3 home tests and all negative.

So how bad do we think the post Christmas/New Years/holidays COVID surge will be?

 

Absolutely wild numbers

 

Pre-Christmas here in Ontario, we went from like 1200 new cases per day to almost 10,000 in a matter of like 5 days. I fully expect the numbers over the next week or two to be astronomical

 

I think my dad, who lives in Mexico, has Covid. He came down with mad respiratory issues this week. Apparently his doctor said it wasn’t Covid because he didn’t have other symptoms like fever or loss of taste / smell. So then I asked my dad if he got a test and he said “no, my doctor just ruled Covid out.” What the fuck???! Why wouldn’t you at least TEST to be sure!?

Overnight a cough and chest congestion has been added to my sore throat and head congestion. Earliest I could find a testing appt was end of day Tuesday. I'm hoping it's just a cold but for the rest of our lives we will always be thinking a cold could be covid.

My wife and 3 year old have no symptoms so who knows.

 

A scratchy throat turning into a sore throat with head congestion is how it all started for me. I’ve every symptom except for lack of smell/taste.

day five of having symptoms with still having a sore throat, fatigue, head congestion, and a cough.

 

If the week after thanksgiving at my job taught me anything, it’s going to be horrendous here
