I bought 6 boxes of home tests from Walgreens like 2 weeks ago. Online and right to my door. Working in the ER was a pretty good reason and I’m glad I did.

also, here’s yesterdays numbers for my hospital (it’s a small community hospital)

We transferred someone out to INDIANAPOLIS because no where near here could take them. Chicago is only 60 miles away.

 

I picked up at home tests from the health department last week and I go to use one today and they have been expired for 3 months

 

I realize nobody knew the specifics of the Omicron variant before it was discovered - but anyone with half a fucking brain knew something like the Omicron variant was a STRONG FUCKING POSSIBILTY, almost a foregone conclusion really given how we've handled this virus so far, and this move here shows just a complete lack of foresight and a horrific level of ineptitude rivalling many of the idiotic things Trump and his administration did. Completely and utterly fucking inexcusable.

 

NJ politics can be so fucking sleazy. It’s nearly impossible for someone to lose when they have the corrupt county line. Menendez hasn’t even officially announced his campaign yet and he has the county endorsement and even Phil Murphy’s endorsement!

 

I'm sorry, is carjacking really considered a "rare" crime?

There have been nearly 500 carjackings in my area this year, it's a pretty regular occurence to me.

 

at gunpoint? within 24 hours of each other?

also I guess it depends on where you live. No one I know has ever been carjacked lol

 

My First Sergeant was a bad ass special forces dude that everyone knew not to fuck with. Got carjacked at 4AM in Austin outside an IHOP. had a gun on him, but was too terrified to move. It was a pretty harrowing story for all of us.

 

I mean it’s certainly not uncommon in philly and Chicago. It’s not like there aren’t hundreds of other people in congress that also support police reform lol. This feels like an unfortunate situation and nothing more than that

 

the better take would be that clearly police don't prevent crimes from happening

 

And here is the kicker: this will keep happening with newer variants!

 

how did this get more tragic

 

The implication being that a lawmaker in favor of police reform would either abandon their systemic viewpoint or lose favor among constituents after being carjacked in broad daylight? Or at least that there are cops who think so and are willing to test the theory…

In so many ways, that’s def not it.

 

The police often terrorize their enemies simply for the sake of terrorizing them. They really don’t need any deeper motive. They can so oftentimes they do.

 

My weed dealer tested positive this morning, my girlfriend was over there last night smoking with him so that’s nice
