Having only recently become familiar with Nate Hochman and his shit brand of intellectualized hate, I find it wonderful how frustrated he is about mainstream conservative narrative

 

I too woke up today feeling like I have a precursor to a cold. Extremely mild sore throat, mild headache…hopefully just dry air. Gonna test anyway because we have a few rapid tests we’ve been holding on to

I had a sore throat and a stuffy nose last week which felt like a cold coming on, but it went away after a day. So maybe it was just allergies or the weather or whatever

 

For the past two years I hardly ever felt sick, I think in part because of mask wearing and a communal effort to sanitize spaces. But two weeks ago I started feeling a head cold come on (sinus congestion, scratchy throat) but in the last day or so I think it’s finally going away, where I’m not relying on cold medication.

Yep the best way to save money is to cut expenses and not to rely on increasing your income. Problem is most people are in the area where necessary expenses are equal or more than income.

I just refinanced my mortgage since the market is wild and took some equity to pay off a bunch of debt while decreasing my mortgage payment a little bit. Would have liked to take that money to do something more fun like update my bathrooms or kitchen but gotta be smart about how I allocate money to things these days.

Can't wait until my son goes to school so we can stop paying daycare since that's basically a second mortgage.

 

Might dip out of this thread for a bit, everyone is getting sick in here

There's been a place in Kalamazoo, Mich. that have this business model for years. Each beer has a minimum and maximum price and it's dependent on 15 minute "trading" periods where the price will go up or down by 25-50 cents at most and then they "crash the market" for 5 minutes maybe 1-2 times a night (more on busy nights) where everything goes to base price and everyone basically orders two beers each. The base prices get as low as $3 for craft beers that would cost normally $7.

I have a family member who's owned one of those "market adjustment menu" bars in California for ~15 years

It's such a weird shtick because you either lean into a Wall Street vibe or you just have this quirk that has nothing to do with the rest of the bar.
