That's at full time hours too. Most minimum wage workers aren't getting that many hours to avoid having to pay them benefits

I think the issue that I have with the White House statement on Omicron is not that it's "wrong" (although I think we need to know what the efficacy drop is in hospitalizations/deaths, especially for people who haven't gotten the booster, before making statements like that). My problem is that it individualizes what is fundamentally a structural issue, saying "you can get sick and die and we won't care because it is all your fault", when most of the people who are unvaccinated have likely been exposed to a constant stream of misinformation and don't know who to trust (or trust the wrong people). It's hard to know what the best response to that problem would be, although it probably would start with having a good, public medical system, but I don't think it should start with "nah, screw you, you deserve whatever comes to you."

I understand that a lot of people have that mentality, but I think the government itself should both be less callous and be focusing on going after the things that increase vaccine hesitancy

Didn't Abbott come out and say they believe their at-home tests can determine the omicron variant?

Good luck in here the next couple weeks guys. These are my favorite two weeks of the year so I’m gonna check out until January, just try to enjoy some peace and quiet, good food, friends, movies, and forget about all this shit. I guess when I get my booster on January 3rd I can count that as getting back into the world lol.
