Trying to watch this on Hulu and there has been a 2 and a half minute commercial break after every single sketch. Fucking annoying.

 

As he should. Let Seth Meyers or Kenan take over and just retire to a golf course with Paul Simon or something.

 

Would be hilarious if a year after Lorne retires the show just completely falls apart and gets canned lol

 

The odds of the show being cancelled go up exponentially the moment Lorne steps down lol

 

He also left in 1980 at the height of the show’s popularity from the original cast

 

The show is in a much more dire place both critically and ratings-wise right now. They would definitely feel more comfortable canceling it if he wasn’t there anymore.

I’m not saying it WILL be cancelled when Lorne is gone, just that the odds of it ever happening go up by a lot.

 

Nah let kenan or Seth take over and make good decisions and change how shit is done.

 

I worry that anyone who takes over while Lorne is still alive will be too beholden to him and his way of doing things to fundamentally change it in the way it needs to change. Especially if the person who takes over is an SNL company man like Kenan or Seth. I would hope they have radical and interesting ideas for how to improve the show, but I just wonder how strong the loyalty to Lorne runs in them. I do think at least more weird and out-there sketch concepts wouldn’t get killed prematurely like they currently do with Lorne in charge, so that alone would be an improvement. Will be interesting to see what happens for sure.

Before the season I thought Beck was let go but I guess it was amicable as he wanted to be in LA with his wife

 

Gonna miss Kyle if he’s leaving, but hopefully Lorne’s pull will help him get more wierdo stuff made like his Netflix show.

 

Big change midseason, no? Wasn't Anna Drezen a head writer?

 

I still really like the idea of Tina taking over. Both because I think she would kill it and also because it would make her Liz Lemon in real life
