Yeah, Dead by Daylight / Friday the 13th. I'm cool with it. I feel like this series lends to it working. I just worry that there won't be a ton of depth. They really need to break away from the main three villains and get wild.

I feel like the whole "shortening the life span" thing will come into play here, especially since it seemed to "age" Gas so much after that wish. Although I think the most likely scenario here is that it ends up affecting Granolah instead (probably just as he's about to win).

There also seems to be something missing to Bardock's story which I'm going to guess will come into play later. He never divulged how Bardock seemed to "win" their fight, so there could be some sort of secret to defeating Gas that will be revealed in another flashback.

It would be satisfying if Gas dies of old age during the fight

So down for this. Obviously you can’t know the whole plot from the trailers, but it looks as though Goku and Vegeta are tied up with Broly and Beerus to let the others run the show on earth. I can’t wait.

I’m tired of this arc. I care nothing about the new characters. Granola, Gas, the rest of that gang, I do not like them at all.

I was a little bored with this chapter too. A new manga arc was confirmed at Jump Festa, so hopefully that one is better.

This arc is starting to remind me of the Goku Black arc. It was a lot of fun when there was some mystery to it, but once everything is kind of out on the table, it's a constant back and forth of "Oh, now HE's stronger. Oh wait, now HE's stronger!" for literally whatever reason they choose. It loses its novelty quite quickly.

New chapter is eh. This arc needs to hurry up and finish so we can move onto something more interesting, hopefully.

Yeah, I kind of lost some interest in this arc.

I never really thought the whole "Granolah wants to kill Goku and Vegeta" thing was very convincing anyway; He waited forty years to decide he wanted to kill the only two-ish remaining Saiyans who were children when his race became extinct, who have also saved the entire universe several times since.

He pretty much drops this whole grudge with them when he finds out the Heeters killed his mom and the Saiyans just killed the rest of his people. Uh, okay. Pretty much just confirms his grudge made little sense to begin with. Now we're just spending three chapters watching a fight between two characters we aren't that invested in.

His hatred towards specifically Goku and Vegeta was never rational, and I don’t think the manga ever tries to portray it as such. He hates Saiyans generally for destroying his species, and upon learning that there are still some Saiyans that exist, wants to seek revenge on behalf of his species. Then he learns from the Namekian that there was not only actually a good Saiyan that existed (something that he was totally justified in not believing up to that point, based on his experience and what literally everyone ever had said about Saiyans lol), but that it was the father of the guy he’s fighting.

He also hasn’t exactly had much time to process all of that - it’s not like we’ve seen him say that he’s fully dropped his grudge, he’s just become sidetracked by a bigger enemy

His shock that a good Saiyan existed is only believable if A) he doesn't even question that fact the somehow there are two "evil" Saiyans standing in front of him that are thousands of times stronger than anyone he's ever met, with literal god powers, who somehow haven't destroyed/ruled the universe in the last 40 years and B) these characters knew of Frieza's death but somehow missed the seemingly widespread information that it was a Saiyan who defeated him.

This also assumes he was totally ignorant to the common knowledge that there were a handful of Saiyan survivors all along whom he could have fought years ago. He's been consumed by revenge on a daily basis for almost 50 years, yet he's apparently ignorant to just about everything that's gone on with the Saiyans since.

On the other hand though, I think the piece of info that I had forgotten was that Granolah wholly believed that Goku and Vegeta were attacking him on behalf of Frieza and not the Heeters, which explains his resistance in reasoning with them. This makes his fight with them a little more understandable than simply wanting to kill them for the sake of it.

Basically most of Dragon Ball Super.

I recently watched GT again for the first time in nearly 20 years and I’m pretty confident that it’s more enjoyable than Super, at least for me.

Baby/Baby Vegeta, Uub/Majuub, kid Goku, SSJ4, Golden Oozaru, Omega Shenron & the other dragons. All of this within 60 something episodes.

The only thing I’ve ever truly found interesting in Super is the focus on 17 and some of the OG heroes…so basically the tournament of power.

  23. GT isn’t so bad, but I do think it suffers from a lot of the same eye roll-y shark jumping stuff that the Buu arc and Super both suffer from too

You can definitely feel that GT is a continuation of the buu saga style of DBZ, as that’s the wave that Matsui was riding while writing the show. Not all of it is enjoyable but I’m a fan of how compact it is and the character designs.

I’d have to say the first half of Dragon Ball and the Android/Cell sagas of DBZ are my highlights of the franchise, though.

Any scene with Frieza is the best part of DBZ in general. In Super he’s basically the only character with any personality. He just enjoys being evil so much, you can’t help but love him
