Rad. Super glad these guys are churning out stuff. Would be very interested to see a completely new EP from them or something.

What kind of style would you like for the new EP?

Have always loved these guys. Really interesting hearing some of the new influences they’ve added to their style over the years. Kenny has such a wonderful voice and I hope he experiments with belting out a bit more. Those were always my favorite moments from the previous material. Sometimes the breathy vocal can feel a bit repetitive but I’m just being picky bc I think they’re fucking awesome. Pollen and Salt is gorgeous and changed my life. Love you guys.

That's a really tough question. I think whatever you guys feel is organic and have fun writing would be best, but the two things I really love about your music is how unique and diverse you've been over the years. I love that you have songs like Hammers and Hearts, A Year on An Airplane, Pollen and Salt and Dirt Doesn't Travel all on one record. It's all so vastly different. Then you shifted to a completely different style for Good Night Witness Light. I've always loved how special that album sounds.

I know you guys are dads now and busy with life outside of music, but as long as it's something you all enjoy making and find interesting then I'll be excited to listen to it. Let loose a bit!

Right on! I always felt like DLD had an identity crisis because we jumped around a bit... but it's really cool to hear that you don't mind that :)

Working on the last two songs has been a blast and I'd assume the style will continue in that range... Thanks for listening all these years!

Ooo I have a question since you're here.

When I was 17 my g/f at the time put a song on a mix CD that my internet searches in the past have indicated is by you and it's called "ergo propter"....is that really you, is that what it's called, and is there a finished version of that song out there that I've missed? or is it meant to be finished with the fading out at the end?

Obviously, if that's not you guys, then this question will probably make no sense to you! lol

That is a Daphne demo. God, probably 15 years or so ago when we were doing our own pre-production for PureVolume songs... Kenny bought a new mixer and wanted to try it out so this is the demo he made. It was never finished unfortunately and now he doesn't even remember the song hahaha

I totally agree with you about belting. Pollen and Salt has a special place in my heart too. Makes me miss home.

haha that's pretty awesome. I'm not an artist but I assume it must be weird to write these songs that you maybe played live once or twice or demoed and it leaked and you completely forgot they existed but random fans bring them up 15+ years later lol. Thanks for the info! Let Kenny know that at least at one point in time a 16 year old girl liked it enough to use it to express her feelings for a boy on a mix:crylaugh:

It is mind blowing that people still remember / care about some of this shit... and at the same time, SOOO cool. It's so hard to make music these days, but it really is so important. This is just a nice reminder that everything we do / make / create can lift someone else up... so you might as well put yourself out there *plugs in guitar*
