Festivals are looking like quite the bargain now, wow.

 

Law of supply and demand.. especially after how long the industry was basically shut down during the pandemic

 

I think most arena shows, whether through VIP packages or "Premium" seating, are pricing the good seats at market value these days.

 

Is that how Ticketmaster's Dynamic Pricing works? Fluctuating the prices based on demand?

So if an arena show is selling very poorly, will the prices begin to decrease to try to sell them?

 

They have in the past

 

I remember 2-3 years ago I bought a seat for the Rockstar Disrupt Festival (yeah, that one) about a week after it went on sale and paid like 60 dollars (it was a pretty good seat in Tinley Park, IL). A floor ticket was like 80, IIRC.

A few weeks before the date of the show they saw that it was selling like crap so they sold all the floor tickets for 20 dollars. I tried contacting Ticketmaster support and they told me to talk to the ticket booth at the venue for an upgrade (technically was it an upgrade even if I paid 60 and I'm getting a 20 dollar ticket?).

Long story short, The woman in the box office had none of it and said she couldn't help me. I even told her the I'm basically getting a 20 dollar ticket when I paid 60 but didn't help.


What I'm trying to say here is that dynamic pricing may be good for some people and for the venues/tours but it will make many people like me pissed off that they paid double for the same ticket.

 

insurance for tours right now is very high due to Covid.

so im watching this avril lavigne interview from when bite me first dropped and they talk about her tour and she says she has a summer 2022 usa tour planned

 

Kind of shocked that the Beartooth/Silverstein/TDWP/Erra tour isn’t coming to Orlando neither Beartooth or Silverstein played Orlando on their last headliners. I’m going to try and make the St Augustine date never been there for a show

 

It’s a great mid-sized amphitheater. I’m sure you’ll try to get in the pit, but the seated area is nice, too.

 

Those gaps in between the CA dates probably means Codechella

All B/C-markets after a summer shed tour.

 

Chevelle didn’t even play Chicago on the headline tour they had. The only Chicago show they played was the radio show with rise against
