Pink + white has actually been getting a lot of play on the local hip hop station. It's refreshing.

 

This same exact thing happened to me today as well haha... I listened to it like 10 times in a row this morning

this came out right after I broke up with my best friend of 3 years, so i feel like i'm always going to have an attachment to this record. i basically love everything on it, but the guitar and vocals in self control kill me, the beat change in nikes, the last verse of nights, all of ivy. some of my highlights

 

Nights is becoming my fav

 

I know it can't be what he meant but when I hear "wanna see nirvana but don't wanna die" I think that he's referring to cobain

 

Probably is double entendre

 

One of the best things about this album is that it features so many lines with multiple meanings like that.

 

This album is now my official example for a grower. I love it so much now

I can't listen to this album too album because when I do, I have to stop whatever I'm doing and just listen. I can't have it on in the background. No matter what I'm up to, I'll drop it by the third track.

Alright, I'm finally coming around to this. Love the first three tracks. Still working through the back half of the record though.

 

Self Control -> Good Man -> Nights is my favorite stretch of songs on any album this year. So captivating.

Interesting discussion about the album:

 

I disagree with the guy in the video who said "Nikes" doesn't fit the album. For me, "Nikes" is like a transitional song between Channel Orange and Blonde. It starts with a beat that wouldn't be totally out of place on Channel Orange, but then towards the end of the song, the beat cuts out and we're just left with Frank's voice and very sparse instrumentation, as we are for most of Blonde. So yeah, it's just a way of transitioning us into Frank's new sound imo

 

I agree with the guy that says there's too much to unpack for the people that were saying it was the greatest album ever after the first listen.

 

Yup. The "...marijuana, that's a cheap vacation" line is always in my head lately haha.

 

I love this album, but it's really hard for me to tell if someone is featured on the tracks. For example that part at the end of Nights is that someone else singing it? The only one I can tell is Andre obviously.

 

I'm pretty sure it's just Frank with the pitch of his voice altered
