Yeah I really don't see how you don't name the scientists at Moderna, Pfizer, J&J, and all the other vaccine manufacturers Person of the Year. These people literally gave us back some semblance of normalcy in our lives. What the actual fuck.

Trump definitely should have been in the running too considering January 6th and the iron grip he's retained on the GOP. Time POTY is usually someone that's in the news a lot for various reasons, has impacts on stuff, etc. Between the space stuff, tesla cars getting big, and his tweeting having major impacts on markets and random crypto coins and etc, he's been in the news a ton this past year.

I still woulda given it to the vaccine manufacturers/inventors though. I'm pretty sure they got a spot and story in last years issue even though they weren't the official POTY, but I don't think that would disqualify them from getting the official title this year.
