Resale market is nuts. Just to GET IN THE BUILDING at Radio City, you're looking at spending 4 figures.

 

Resale for Chicago is ridiculous too

 

I was in the queue for Olivia for 30 mins, plus the 15 minutes ahead of time I was logged in, and by that point the only tickets that were left were $400 "Platinum" Priced.

Needless to say, I said "Fuck this" and got Foo Fighters tickets instead.

 

I really am curious as to if artists get a cut of the "Platinum Price" or not since that essentially is Ticketmaster's method of saying "we noticed a lot of people are interested in this section so we raise the price."

I cant think of another artist that had a craze like this with their debut album, they should have her play in hockey and backsetball arenas, but at the same time I cant imagine playing United center with an album less than 40 minutes long.

Was it like this with Justin Bieber or One Direction?

 

Closest thing I can think of is Avril Lavigne who did an arena tour in 2003 on her first album. She at least did a club tour beforehand though. Ticket scalping/secondary market isn't what it was today.

Was face value seriously $49.50 for these? What were they thinking?

People are really dropping $1K for a ticket to a 50min headlining set from a High School Musical-alum...what a time to be alive...
