when can you believe police? they don't exactly have a good track record of being honest...

 

To me the onus is on Russia; the reason for closer NATO bases is continued threats and provocations from Putin and Russia, especially over the last 10 years. They already illegally took over Crimea; to the leaders of Ukraine, what's to stop Russia from going all out and trying to mainland Ukraine itself? If Russia was amassing troops at my border, I would freak the fuck out and want to join NATO even sooner, to build even more bases

The fact that NATO exists after the fall of the Soviet Union is uhhh... you gotta wonder why if not for the US to maintain a hold there.

Not saying that NATO was good during the Soviet Union tho.

 

I trust white people more than police and that’s saying a lot

 

I would say the vast majority of the time with the vast majority of police officers, that seems pretty reasonable.

 

I'm guessing the leaders in NATO just assumed Russia would remain a foe/enemy, regardless of whoever took over Russia after the fall, and so they just played it safe and kept NATO in place, despite no real threat for the longest of time

 

Are you saying the vast majority of the time we should believe cops? Lmao

 

My local Starbucks (in Buffalo) would be closed every Mon-Wed noon-2pm for employee training, over the past month. It's obvious what they were doing.

 

My fiancé and I went to The Met last weekend and thought it was wild that those were still up.

Has there been any kind of reform in police training anywhere in the country, to make it much more extensive? Or is it pretty much still "Here's a badge and gun; now get out there kid and find bad people" in every town across the US?

 

I know one cop who I think is a decent man in the wrong profession, but I would still say to never trust the police. Hell, he even recognizes there are bad people in the force, and fears for whatever corrupt Trumper could replace him when he retires.

I believe NWA had something profound to say on the subject of the police.
