There's so many terrible movies that were released this year that felt like they came in like 2015: Malcolm & Marie, Cherry, Music (the Sia disaster), Infinite (the Mark Wahlberg Paramount Plus movie). May they all go to the depths of streaming hell.

I've luckily avoided most of the very bad streaming movies. I have zero interest in putting myself though something like Red Notice just to log it on letterboxd

I took next week off of work to try and catch up on as much as possible. You can never get it all unless you live in New York or Los Angeles, though.

There is still a ton I want to see. I'm not sure I'll be able to make a list any time soon.

I always make mine January 1st. I miss the days when I could make a video games list lol. Don't think I've finished a single game this year.

I like doing catch up between Christmas and New Years, making sure to finish my list before the new year officially begins.

To me, these things are fun snapshots of what I enjoyed in a calendar year, not some kinda binding, definitive commitment. So, if I miss anything I end up loving later (even if I get to it mere days later), or warm up to some stuff and cool down on others, that’s fine. If I see a 2021 release in 2022, it wasn’t part of my personal 2021, and that’s that.

I also count films that got an initial wide theatrical release in the current year if I didn’t have access (outside of festivals or leaks) its “official” release year, so Nomadland will be on my list this year.

I need to see Drive My Car - for some reason its going to Connecticut, but not Philly. Ugh. So, I can't make a list in good conscience without seeing that first.

A lot on that list I've never even heard of, need to go through it and see what's available to watch now. Didn't even know Pedro Almodóvar had a new one out.

I have never heard of almost any of these. I have been so far out of the loop. Asako I & II was very good, so Drive My Car might be something to see.

It’s a great game. I think I’m close to the end, really enjoyed it and it was a big surprise since I’ve never played much of the series.
