I've never seen these numbers laid out, and since our ministry of health just released them for Austria, this might be of interest to some:

    Cases of COVID: 1.200.000
    Hospitalizations: 61.500
    Deaths: 12.498

    Vaccinations: 14.500.000
    Hospitalizations: 1.360
    Deaths: 2

(The hospitalizations for vaccinations are actually with a bit of an asterisk, these are just "hospitalizations that coincide with the vaccination", so if you broke your foot on the way home from getting jabbed you'd still be in this lol)

also the deaths occured after the johnson and astra zeneca vaccine respectively due to clotting, so that's not really a thing anymore.

The best part of the Nunes news is that he’ll both be out of Congress and then shortly out of a job entirely when whatever Trump-owned media boondoggle he’s joining inevitably goes out of business, as all Trump businesses tend to do

Seems pretty clear that it's dumb to force it on groups of people who don't want it and instead use it when asked to by individuals the same way most of us do with other pronouns.

The only food I wash is fresh produce and that just entails running water from the faucet and then drying with paper towel

I know people do it, but I think it's weird personally and illogical. What is there to wash off that only cold water could handle? unless you're scrubbing your chicken with soap and water then you're mad. A little pat dry to get a nice sear, and that's all the prepping chicken needs. Also it says that rinsing chicken in a sink and getting poultry splatter everywhere is more of a risk for getting sick than whatever little bit the water rinses off. And it says in that article, they don't like that slimey layer... What slimey layer? I have never gotten and cooked chicken that was 'slimey'. If i thought it was, then I probably wouldn't cook it as I'd already be thinking it went bad.

I've never heard of people washing their chicken.

  21. Sometimes I roast a whole chicken. I do rinse it after I take it out of the bag, then I pat dry with paper towel before cooking it.

If I am just grilling chicken breasts, I don't typically wash them beforehand.

I only wash off the sliminess. I don't like the feeling of it.

See... what does this mean? A few people have said this, but I've never gotten chicken that was slimey, and certainly not a layer of slime that I could just rinse off. I'm trying to picture what slimey chicken is and how my reaction would be to just rinse and cook it and not chuck it because it was bad. Are you talking slime on a chicken breast? a thigh? a whole chicken?

I buy large packs of chicken from Costco and they are typically frozen for a while before getting cooked. When all of that blood freezes, it is typically nasty after defrosting.
