Idk if they’re going to expand the playoffs anymore

 

I've just seen it happen every single year. Right when you think you'll get a legit wacky final 4, a team blows it.

There's also crazy pressure for a team that's not used to it

 

Hey I'm with you. The best aspect of the sport is the fact week 1 matters. September college football is the best. I consider myself the sites "fuck playoff expansion" guy so I'm wirh you.

But I do accept that the final 3 weeks of the season gets a little weak cause so few games really matter. That's why I like the 12 team in particular cause teams will clamor for that bye and/or that home field for the first round...and teams will care even more about the conference title game.

The incentive to win every game must be maintained. Thats why I'm against a number like 8.

 

They are, I think they’re just slow walking it until a) the ESPN deal expires or b) ESPN offers a new contract where they can shop an expanded playoff to multiple media partners

 

12 teams is perfect.

The XII game is off to a nice and competitive start. This is what I long for.

This OK State QB looks like a huge loser.

 

Every game matters. Except the first month of the year when it’s P5 teams stomping FCS and low FBS schools. And the end of the season when everyone is out of the running except like 5 teams. Oh and also the middle when SEC teams get that one cupcake non conference game. Every. Game. Matters.

well yes, doesn’t that mean that the system is working that 5 teams at most are in the running for being the best team at the end of the season?

and I’m completely on board with dropping SEC/FCS games, but that’s not relevant to a discussion of the postseason
