Just make it the highest ranked 5 or 6 conference champions instead of Power 5. That should cover the 1 in 10 year occurrence where some 5-6 team is a champion, and they can put in whatever G5 team is on a streak instead.

I've gone back and forth. I think I'm in favor of auto bids system but make a caveat that if they're not ranked top 16 or something then they don't get it.

I for one think its fine. If 7-5 Virginia wins, so be it. Im not gonna feel bad for any of the teams 9-12 that lose out cause of that.

Now if the conferences wanna fix their conference championship systems, that's fine by me too. Or realign it.

Taking that job could really truly tank his career, that program is not setting a coach up for success. Hope for all involved he takes the extension and stays put

 

I’m not going to argue that it’s currently a better job than Oregon, but I don’t know if I’d say they aren’t setting up a coach for success. Reports on the AD indicate that they’re making the guy the highest paid AD in the country. And I’d imagine they’re giving Mario a nice payday too. That tells me the school is making a strong effort to turn things around. With their history, Mario’s recruiting prowess, and a seemingly new serious influx of cash, I think Mario has a great opportunity to be a savior of sorts at his hometown school.

 

Oregon vs. Miami seems like a very easy choice to me
