Caught Weird Al for the first time on the most recent Vanity tour. Was all ready with the pre-sale code at 10AM, and sure enough, it doesn't work. I mentioned it on a reddit thread, and another redditor PMed me a few minutes later. They had called the venue, and they acknowledged the mess up, and gave them a code, and were nice enough to share it with me before it got posted publicly. Got 2nd row center aisle seats. It was amazing, but I still wanna catch the standard Weird Al production on this tour.

Saw Weird Al open for Three Dog Night years ago (I wanna say when Blair Witch first came out) in Costa Mesa.. dude stole the show.

Weird Al puts on a better show than 80% of the artists on this website. Last three tours I caught were each different. Mixes it up, but still a fantastic night every time.

2019: Orchestra tour: outdoor amphitheaters with 40-piece orchestra.

2018: Stripped-down tour: only played originals. no parodies.

2015: Album tour: 2-hour show with costume changes, videos, crowd interaction.

It’s bizarre to think about Weird Al opening for someone

dates are up and there’s a ton of them

    also from the site:

Please note: this is a scaled-down tour with limited production (no costumes, props, or video screens) in smaller theatres and more intimate settings, and Al’s setlist will be comprised almost entirely of his original (non-parody) songs.

  7. Oooo the SLC venue he’s playing at is literally just up my street a couple blocks. Done! And it looks like he played “Albuquerque” a lot on the last Originals tour he did so now I’m even more excited. I don’t know a lot of his originals, but if I heard that song live, it would all be worth it. Haha.

If memory serves correctly, Weird Al played Bamboozle in 2007 in the slot between TBS and Linkin Park.

I didn't realize Weird Al had non parody songs.

This is all blowing my mind.

Not too excited about it being a set of originals but with Emo Phillips opening, I dont think I can pass up this tour.

Each of his albums are roughly half parody/half originals.

But even the originals are a parody of a genre/topic. I guess I just consider everything he does as a parody, even if it's not note for note ripping off another song.

Like, his literal Wikipedia page for each album has Parody Of for each song - even if it's an original.

It’s a perfect day for letting go... Supporter

in Nashville he always plays the Ryman which is a historic venue that is 2700 cap but some larger artists will still play there because of the historic factor

Ah dang. Looks like it’s the same format of his 2018. Emo Philips opening again too… Should still be fun though!

this Weird Al tour is probably *not* for those who've never seen him before as there are pretty much none of the 'classic' parodies -- just the style parodies/originals, but for dedicated fans it's incredible. Caught this tour a few years back and as someone who grew up listening to his albums (not just the well-known parodies), it was a real treat.

It'd still be enjoyable if you only know Eat It and so on, but it's much more of a thing for the dedicated fans overall. (also, he basically dropped Eat It from the set on his last regular parody tour with the orchestra presumably due to the Michael Jackson stuff, which was interesting).

Yeah, iirc he made an announcement that he would refrain playing Eat It live again for the foreseeable future because of the Michael Jackson controversy. I guess he’s dropping Fat too, for that matter.

Something else interesting to note too is that for YEARS, his social media bio was “You know… the ‘ Eat It’ Guy…” But now it’s “You know… the Weird one.” So the controversy also had something to do with that too, I suppose

My friend wanted to go to the Chicago date but he didn't have the presale code so I guessed 2-3 codes and found the one that works. It's "ROMANTICS".

Got tickets to TWY and Menzos; was surprised Menzingers was more expensive ($0.60 but still).
