Only thing that irked me was they dropped the presidential storyline for that episode - whoever plays Jeryd Mencken is a glorious nut job and should be a permanent cast member

Think its becoming obvious to Shiv that she's never going to be listened to or respected by her father or Roman, who's prettymuch Logan's mouthpiece for every potential deal now. She'll join Kendall but only if he lets her run the show because she knows he's incapable

agreed on Shiv. i think she's also realizing that Roman holds more power than she anticipated / thought he ever could, which is even more frustrating for her and her power attempts / wishes.

a bit to your first sentence - "The Watch" podcast brought up a good point that one criticism of the show could be that almost every episode defaults back to like "square one" in a sense. the last few episodes in particular don't have any real continuation from the last. episode 6 ended with Shiv all pissed and angry and episode 7 opens with her in the office with everyone with champagne as if the last episode didn't happen at all. now, the podcast did call out that this is also very much how real life works - people (especially in offices and families) can be pissed, but you can't just... stay pissed and throw a fit, you still have to carry on, so i get that, but it does seem a little whiplashy (for lack of better term) how episodes seem to contain these major moments or end with cliffhanger like themes and then are barely mentioned again in the next episode (but may come back later on)

remember when Logan was defiant to not let the FBI in and then they finally did and the walls looked like they were crumbling down on them all and then... nothing lol. we find out in this episode (and a bit in the last) that they didn't really find anything. oh! ok then! (granted Logan would not truly know this, but like... why build up the defense of not letting them in and then you finally do and... the writers just pivot away from it as if they included it just to check a list of things they wanted to have in the stories)

People saying Shiv or Tom are going to join Kendall…what? Feels like the whole point of this episode was to show that there isn’t even a “Kendall’s side” any more. He has nothing. They’re stealing his business ideas, the DOJ didn’t find anything incriminating, they want to buy him out of the company completely. If he was actually smart he’d realize this and take that deal, but he’s definitely not going to. He needs to feel important, and as a consequence he’s going to keep suffering his family’s abuse, probably forever.

i was under the impression that tom had more awareness of the dealings outside of what was documented in the papers and would be more of a slam dunk for kendall’s case than the documents waystar was flooding the FBI with of stuff decades ago

I do not have a history with drug use but that line hit so fucking hard and yet seems so weirdly relatable even if recreational drug use isn’t your thing. Like, we’ve all had moments where we expected to be happy and either weren’t as happy as we should’ve been or wanted to be or led to believe we would be. And we’ve done things to try and make it “better” (whether drugs or buying something or thinking certain songs would help). That line just works and I think will end up being one of my top 5 of the series, if I was to ever create such a list.

  14. Genuinely down after watching that, really depressing...

Jeremy Strong is probably the greatest actor these days? The way he got teary eyed when asking his siblings why they really came felt insanely real.

And every minute this season he's performed exactly like someone who is totally unwell but is pretending not to be, from his facial expressions to how he talks, it's crazy

Jeremy Strong has been transcendent imo. Kendall gets destroyed like seven different times throughout the episode and Strong is uniquely devastating each time.

On top of how dumb of a take this is, it’s also just an incorrect read of the show. At no point is any character unhappy because of their wealth, that is literally never the source of their discontent lol

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

Goddamn that take sucks. We aren’t expecting to tax the rich and then all be billionaires anyway. Ideally there would be zero billionaires.
