Yeah I'd say Urban Meyer has had as much success in the NFL as Bill. That seems right.

 

Troll post aside, it is a harder job than what Riley inherited at Oklahoma but he is a better coach than anyone since Pete Carroll by a long shot. Good hire, but the expectations are going to be near impossible to reach without starting a dynasty and things turn nasty at those schools when you’re not elite every year

but that would be making USC better if he makes them / brings them to Oklahoma’s level. If USC goes to 3 out of 4 playoffs that’s a huge success for them from where they have been the last decade + right?

 

I mean I'd love to see him fail altogether but that's not gonna happen so I have to be a little realistic with my hate haha

 

I guess we’ll see how delusional their president, former alumni and staff is. Will making it to the college playoff be “good enough” or do they think they should be winning the NC most years? Maybe making the playoff won’t even be enough to save him after 4-5 years.

 

USC has won a single Pac 12 championship since it became a thing in 2011, so maybe they should focus on that first.

 

Seems like they are by hiring a good coach

Yeah..despite seeing it coming from a mile away I’ve been silently crying for like an hour and a half..lol. He deserves all the success in the world…and to play somewhere with an offensive line.

Yeah, the hype train has already started chugging around here amongst former UT players who now do radio and stuff.

 

My point about OU being delegated to A&M ceiling of success is that ou won't be able to cake walk to 11 wins/consistent plagkff team anymore. A successful season will now be 10-2/9-3. In the sec that's a success, but ou fans will need to get used to that.

Maybe ou will be more like lsu/auburn. Every once in a while they'll have a national title contender.

 

Or they'll win every SEC title for three decades after the transition. Anything is possible

 

I could definitely see Riley getting usc to the playoffs a few times and losing while having even more talented teams, that’s still a big upgrade compared to where they’ve been for awhile
