My guess is 3 years $110, 3rd year is a player option.

 

There were people saying that it was over $40M a year earlier. It's going to be insane, but, well, it's Scherzer.

I'd hope for something like $85mil/2 years. Yes, he was great last year, how good can we expect him when he is 40 years old? 3 years seems too long. But I know the argument is, if you win the world series in 2022 or 2023 who cares what you are paying in 2024

Scherzer feels like one of the few exceptions to the age rule, however anxious i may feel about it.

 

I think the argument here is that, if this deal goes through, Cohen really doesn't care how high the Mets payroll is, at least in the near future. Which is refreshing to actually see after hearing about it nonstop for the last year

Semien is a the kind of player you want on your team. Toronto did very good by him and did great by Toronto. I don't get leaving a good situation where you're protected and loved, but good for him and his family. Disappointed as a huge Jays fan, but no hard feelings. Hope he does well except in head to head match ups.
