But has Franklin ever given up 50+ points to an FCS team?

    amazing.

I feel like this is a tale of PSU knowing who they are and what they are and Florida refusing to accept their true place in life lol. Idk the history of Florida’s program but I assume that Meyer and the two championships planted some “forever top 3 team” mindset in their fans and alumni unless I’m missing some 80’s or 90’s dominance that also has led to their holier than thou thinking.

90s dominance definitely existed. A bunch of SEC championships, bowl wins when they actually meant something, and a national championship. Some really great 80s teams were good too but overshadowed by eventual sanctions.

I jumped on the bandwagon mid-90s during the Wuerffel/Spurrier/Hilliard era. A few years too late for Emmitt Smith.

Florida really did have a 25 year stretch as a top tier program, and I’d say the past 8-10 years has dropped them to a second tier program, but with brand new facilities and the talent in their immediate backyard, there’s certainly potential for someone to bring them back in a big way if a few things break correctly. But no, no one thinks they are on the same level as Alabama/OSU. Def a notch below, at least as long as Saban is there.

Watching every Florida team fall while UCF rises has been nothing short of erotic. FSU, UF, and Miami are rebuilding AGAIN while UCF moves to the Big 12 with Sweatervest at the helm.

Alabama and Ohio State are the top two programs in the country. Georgia, with a national title win (maybe even just another appearance) can join those ranks. I wouldn't even say Florida is a Tier 2 school right now. They're firmly tier three.

Go Michigan, Auburn, Oklahoma State, Stanford.

Georgia, Cincy, Michigan, and Oklahoma State as the final four would be stupendous.

Nebraska season ended in the most appropriate way possible.

Nice comeback by aztecs. It was 9am...they must've been still drunk from night before

I doubt anyone is watching the Apple cup but is that a rule in college? Call a fair catch and automatically get the ball at the 25?

UW player called a fair catch at the 1, caught the ball and then touched the end zone and kneeled at the 1. And they gave it to them at the 25.

I’m probably wrong but I think as long as the ball doesn’t reach the goal line you can kneel like that.

Or the refs just missed it.

Hmm looks like you are right. They did it again just now. What a weird rule lol.

Wild to me the rivalries that exist right now / have existed for longer than my lifetime that definitely did not start that way.

I looked into the Michigan OSU rivalry and had no idea that Michigan demolished OSU for the first almost two decades straight. After the first 15 games Michigan led the series 13-0-2 and outscored OSU 369-21 with 11 shutouts.

that would basically be like if in 60 years Rutgers had a major rivalry with… well, anyone lol it would seem impossible to see that happening now. I can’t imagine anyone thought OSU and Michigan would turned into such a big goddamn deal 100 years ago

I despise both Ohio State and Michigan but hoping Ohio State wins so Cincy stays in playoff contention. If Michigan wins they’ll drop OSU to no.4 and Michigan will get bumped to 3. IMO. Correct me if you think I’m wrong lol

OSU would drop farther than one spot. They wouldn’t win their conference or even their division of the Big Ten. They’d probably drop below Cinci, ND and OK State if they win tonight.

likely would be the case unless Michigan really blew the doors open on them. And then I’m not sure what happens with the Big Ten title game. Is OSU already a lock? I think so, so they’d still have a chance to get back in / stay in the playoff if they win the Big Ten championship (and Cincy doesn’t have a conference title game I believe) so yeah, Michigan winning muddies the waters more than of OSU just wins the next two games.

Cinci does have a title game against Houston who has only one loss. I think you guys are overstating OSU’s position here. In no way does a 2 loss non Big Ten champ get ranked above Cinci. There’s also a chance Oregon loses again which will make that loss look worse.

oh, I didn’t know the game against Houston was the conference title game, that’s good. Weird they can do that since the AAC only has 11 teams and no divisions so I figured they didn’t have a title game.

And yeah, if OSU loses today they don’t go to the Big Ten title game, Michigan does, so yeah, if OSU does lose that helps Cincy (and maybe someone else because Michigan vs Wisconsin (if WI wins today) seems more of a toss up than WI vs OSU so the Big Ten could be out of the playoff entirely yet still and then I guess that would open the door for a second SEC team
