That PSG goal means they activate all their bullshit antics.

Well Dortmund found a way to fail to advance out of the one group that would have ostensibly been the easiest for them to do so. Smh. Possibly the most embarrassing group stage for Dortmund since I've been a fan and perhaps for some time before that.

yeah that is disappointing, even with missing halaand and Reyna.

Not sure how long you've been a fan but Dortmund once managed to get 2 points in the group stage with 2 draws against Nicosia and they even qualified for the Europa League with that. It was not too long ago, maybe 5 years? Was definitely more embarassing.

I do remember now :( I think what stuck with me more during that group is how inept we were against Tottenham, especially Son and Kane. That first match against Spurs, Burki was beat at the near post twice in the first half. For some reason that has had more staying power in my memory than any of the other matches in that group. But I would agree, although the performances against Ajax and this Sporting match are really given that 17/18 group a run for most embarrassing. We could still lose/draw against Besiktas, after all.

For those unaware, Sporting are one of Portugal’s big three and were in total disarray two years ago, still recovering from the disastrous presidency of Bruno De Carvalho, a man with the club running nous of Bartomeu and the personality and politics of Donald Trump.

They hired Ruben Amorim, the manager of Braga before last season for a £10m fee. An eye watering amount for a man who had 6 months of experience, and they were widely mocked for it.

Now they have won their first title in 18 years, and reached the CL knockouts for only the second time.

Probably the best interim candidate available tbh, they've made a smart decision for once!

yes we do. you're underselling it, actually.

but this is good, especially the two year consultancy. a step in the right direction of making us a football club again.

Genuinely thought he was a wild goose chase candidate and we'd end up with Valverde (who I'd have been thrilled with).

This is class though, what an appointment. We're in for some fun football if the internet is to be believed

Yeah, that definitely feels like a set up for Ten Hag

shockingly smart move by United. Keeping him on board too will be big for them. If Ten Hag comes too, then it’s a pretty masterful turnaround of coaching.

I genuinely expected us to fuck around for 2 or 3 weeks focusing on Poch and ending up with Carrick for months.
