Eh if you just take the gameplay on its own and ignore/don't care about customization and the battle pass and all that, I can see it getting an 8 or 9, especially if we're going by IGN standards where 7 may as well be their 0.

    I think most games deserve a 0

If games aren't technically masterpieces that revolution the industry, they are a 0. All games must be Red Dead 2 or Last Of Us 2 or Portal 2 or Uncharted 2...

Basically a sequel if any kind

  5. Normalize giving 0-6’s more often.

  6. I’d give Halo MPs a 7.5. And this is coming from someone who has done nothing but play it since it dropped.

Battle Pass was a stinker at launch and still feels a little messy.
Not having an individual rank feels weird. Could’ve just copied over SR from Halo 4 and 5.

That said - it’s still my favorite MP since 3. And I loved Reach and 5.

7-7.5 feels right. The gameplay itself is the best Halo has been in over a decade, but the progression being so artificially extended and the really predatory monetization sucks a good chunk of the life out of it

Also another part of the battle pass that feels bad is the equipment/armor you unlock. That whole system is ridiculously designed. You unlock a visor and it's only for one specific helmet on one specific piece of armor and it doesn't even notify you that you have a new piece so you have to find it in its terrible customization menus.

The color/shader system is worse than Destiny as well

Oh another really fun decision for Infinite is the limited time event challenges are shuffled in with the normal ones and there’s no set slot for them. So better hope you have some challenge swaps if you get screwed over with something like “Destroy 3 Wraiths” or else you just can’t participate in the event

Honestly, everything outside of the gameplay is pretty bad haha

Well, for starters, take a look at the new releases on Switch or Great Deals page any day of the week. There's so much shovelware stuff and it's only gotten more and more prevalent in the age of digital storefronts being front and center.

For games that aren't shovelware, I think games don't get criticized as they should. Was I being hyperbolic with the 0 score? Sure, but I think games like GTA Trilogy Remaster, Cyberpunk, Bethesda games with massive bugs, etc shouldn't get a pass and should be judged accordingly.

That's absolutely fair. Definitely agree that games should be criticized more harshly if needed. Something can still be fun to play and enjoyable while still be criticized

  20. Games absolutely don’t get the same criticism as something like movies or music.

I love nearly every Bethesda game (they all get rated astronomically high) but they’re typically very buggy. Not game breaking bugs usually but quite a bit of annoying ones.

Vase and everyone else. I agree with 99% of your criticism but 343 has been pretty proactive so I would like to give them the “week off” for the holidays

Oh, I'm not saying they're bad or should be "punished" in anyway, I'm just saying I think it launched in a less than great state, but they seem pretty receptive to feedback.

Also the people who would have to work over the holiday to fix it would definitely not be the same people who fucked it up in the first place
