The original reports were that it was gonna be something around what acuna got for his extension but this seems like its higher than that which would be cool

You really think they’re going to keep him for the full length of the deal? Can’t wait to see the breakdown of the $ per year because once they have to start paying him over $15 million then you’ll know when they’re going to trade him for a big haul.

These decade+plus contracts - has a player ever played out the entirety of one of these contracts?

 

I mean this really doesn’t change much, maybe just an extra year as a Ray if they didn’t sign him to this long extension.

But hey seriously great for the Rays organization. Best case scenario is they end up relocating before he starts to get expensive and they hold onto him until he retires.

 

I was about to rant about how teams like the reds and as and rays are killing the sport, so good to see some positive news from one of those teams

 

Now it's officially official

 

Feel like this news may decrease the already small chance that the Rays extend Glasnow this offseason despite him not returning from TJ until 2023 (and the final year of his contract), but I’m still trying to be positive

but still feeling very good about what the Rays did today

Funny thing is Clint literally carried the team a few times, injuries (and the Yankees) did him no favors. Fanbase is almost unanimously good riddance.

Wade was trash 95% of his Yankee career and twitter is crying. Such a dumb fanbase. Hope a fresh start gets him going and he kills it. Provided his health scares aren't lingering, it was rumored his career could be done. So good luck Red Thunder
