Each person should get one chance to rewind a movie in the theater.

If a movie is over 2hrs it should have an intermission for bathroom breaks

A local theater in my city has started doing it for all movies and it is fantastic

I'm not trying to get on anyone's case here, because to each his own, and I get someone not wanting to sit in one place a long period of time.

On the other hand, I can't help but feel that if I can't go two hours without having to pee, I should probably be seeing a doctor.

Anything over two hours deserves an intermission

I’ve seen showings pop up with subtitles recently and I hope it ends up becoming a trend as someone who is hearing impaired.

Having to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle or climax of a movie is such a near-ubiquitous experience. Besides prices, it is probably one of the biggest complaints people have about going to a theater, especially now when the option to just stay home and watch a movie you can pause is bigger than ever. No reason to not have a short break for anyone who wants it

Drinking during a movie at a theater seems like a foolish endeavor to me. Like you’re gonna wanna go piss after you’ve been drinking so why do it at a time when you can’t pause the movie?

So this thread, riveting as it is, got me Googling digestion. I found this article: How Long Does It Take to Digest Food?

I'm not sure what this means in relation to this thread. I don't know if it means anything. But I do find it a little weird that so many people can't last two hours without having to use the restroom. I'm not talking about holding it in, I mean just full blown not having to go.

Maybe it's the type of food and drink at fault? I personally don't eat or drink during a movie; I can't remember the last time I've had to use the restroom during a film.

Let me be clear. I'm not against an intermission; I think it's perfectly reasonable for someone to want to take a break. But I'm intrigued by the bathroom situation here.

I love old movies and all the big ‘60s tentpoles had intermissions because they were into that roadshow trend to draw people away from TV. It can be used well.

Back when movie theaters existed. Always a soda and sour patch kids 25% of the time.

My favorite seat was the first row (in amc theres a few front front rows and then you have the arena sitting so when I say 1st row I mean of the the arena sitting) and right behind a rail. Put my feet up, easy access to go to bathroom and come back without dealing with anyone.

favorite seats are the middle rows somewhere, and in the middle somewhere....

Doesnt everyone sneak in food? When with my kids, we'd have snuck candy, popcorn, juice boxes...

As an adult, we bring coffee.

When running my movie theater, Id let people sneak in whatever, for the most part - NBD in a slow movie (a friend brought, and shared, a pizza, with me)

Prices back then were $2 small popcorn, and a large popcorn and large drink was $5.25 (the soda was 44 oz, and the popcorn was 130 IIRC)

tbh I never buy food/drinks at the movies. Pobably would if intermissions were a thing. I drink a shit ton of water during the day and personally don't like dehydrating to be able to sit through a 2hr+ movie.

Would also love a subtitle option to be more common. Movies with lots of unique character names and terms are hard for me (new Dune for example, was a lot easier for me to follow on my second watch at home w/ subs since I could read the names of characters, locations, etc)

Imma do a couple video game ones:

Claire Redfield always had the better story in Resident Evil 2 and it’s remake.

Bethesda Game Studios really isn’t that great of a studio and they’ve yet to make a game that isn’t a bug ridden mess that the fans have fix for them via mods.

Speaking of Resident Evil, the remakes of the originals are superior because they trimmed out the padding that the originals sorely relied on to stretch out the play time, especially in 2.
