This country is never going to change. Doesn’t matter what any good intentions accomplish short term, it’s all for nothing.

 

I’m truly convinced Rupert Murdoch just wants to watch the world burn out of spite.

 

As I think someone else here pointed out, one of the problems with the case is that they were trying to convict him for first-degree homicide. I don’t even think I agree with that given the evidence, and was certainly never going to happen in a stand your ground state anyway. Manslaughter probably would have gotten him convicted.

And the fact a 17 year old can legally carry a rifle just defines how screwed up this country can be.

 

A bleak - but predictable - thing we are going to witness is that a critical mass of the racial justice movement beginning to form last summer is going to fail to materialize with Trump out of the White House. This parallels the anti-war movement disappearing under Obama once Bush was gone.

 

I hope Rittenhouse feels the need to look over his shoulder everywhere he goes for the rest of his life. He should never be allowed to feel safe leaving the house.
