If the House version is what passes, I'd be at like a 7 or 8. Falls far short on what needs to be done on climate and everything is likely to expire in a few years (I could see universal pre-k sticking around, but certainly not the CTC after next year), but it's still probably better than I would have expected we would get a year ago. If paid leave or immigration drop out, which seems likely, then that would drop its rating for me quite a bit. Even more so if the drug pricing stuff ends up out of the bill, but they seem pretty confident that they have the votes for that

Yeah this. I'm at about a 7, maybe a 6.5. All the Medicare changes that we lost out on really brought it down for me. Really wanted to see at minimum the eligibility brought down to at least 60, if not 55. Losing that was a killer. Also having 12 weeks paid leave shaved down to 4 (and, most likely, zero after Manchin is done with it). A lot of great stuff in the bill but some of it temporary.

  16. it’s so fucking true. and if you’re just in a regular ass car all these fucking SUVs headlights seem to shoot directly into your eyes. it’s legitimately brutal and i don’t understand how that’s considered safe

So this is my industry, if the USA regulators kept up with their regulations like they do in Europe, we have the technology now for the headlights to selectively turn off sections of the beam pattern from incoming drivers eyes as well as turning it off for reflective signs. A lot of new cars, more SUV's because they are more expensive have this technology on them but we turn it off for the USA market due to it not being approved. We also don't enforce shit when it comes to people modifying the lighting on their cars and that's why we have all these douches in trucks/jeeps with super bright light bars and added lighting on them.

When will the Senate take a vote on this bill now? Before Thanksgiving? Or will that be a multi-week process?
